I don't know what it is about slow mo gun kills during gameplay, but they literally never get old.

Now that's the splinter cell I know and love.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

This use to be one of the premier stealth-genre franchises. I still have Hitman: Absolution to look forward to at least.

I traded in Splinter cell conviction but I still have double agent and I am having the urge to replay it now.

People still consider this a stealth game? That's like calling Resident Evil 6 Survival-Horror.

You can go through the game as stealthy as you want. There's even a video back a bit that shows how you can go in all guns or bypass/stealth kill the bulk if not all, the mission.

Agree about RE:6. Doesn't come close (From the demo anyways) of the RE feel/atmosphere.

IMO Stealth and "Rambo" shooting have yet to prove they can co-exist very well.

Stealth should be rewarding for patience. Being invisible, not leaving any evidence around is what makes stealth. Games like MGS and past SC punish you for trying to be Tony Montana.

Shooters like COD are rewarded differently (kill streaks/count). If I can come out guns-blazing and kill everything in sight and move on, why would I sneak when there is no reason to?

The only way for them to work properly in the same game is for the developers to program different sets of codes for different modes (like arcade or simulation) and offer different rewards. Stealth and Shoot em up(Casual) shooters are like apple and oranges - they are fruits but are made up of very different elements.

Splinter Cell Conviction's Stealth worked very well as you could be stealthy or light them up. And you got certain unlocks for stealth only and the extras had stealth only modes, so you are rewarded for it. If this is like that I will be very happy.
Choosing to be stealthy or not is the gamers choice. If you want stealth then go stealth regardless if you can use your gun.
