    Re: Watch Dogs

This is on sale for $20 almost everywhere for PS4 (Amazon, Target, GameStop).

Remember being so pumped for this to release; then the game got obliterated during reviews and forgot about it.

Is this game worth the $20?

Yeah, it's worth $20 to run through it. It's not a great game, but it was good enough for me to complete it.

Thanks Pappy. Just looking for a game to bridge me till Project CARS drops.

I was also looking at Life is Strange after I saw your post a few days back.

Yeah I think it picks up after Act II... so thats when you should expect the most action.

Personally this was my favorite game last year. The single player is good but hacking and tailing people online was fantastic fun. This game brought something really unique to online gaming. Well worth the price.

Some of things I'm planning on doing when I get GTA V (PS4), is wander around, explore the city and especially try to find some living-breathing world - where pedestrians live their own lives, realistic traffic and in general an every-day life cycle.

Does Watch Dogs have any of these? I like WD's graphics and how realistic cars look (though physics/damage is a different story), but since the map doesn't seem that big (unless I'm wrong), I wonder if there is a lot to look at/interact with and be impressed with.

Also, if I'm not all that hooked on the hacking, is this game worth it? I mean, can it be played more like an action open-world game, or is it just a "hacking universe"? Keep in mind that I don't play online.

Did anyone bother with the DLC? I bought it digitally when it came out, so it's still on the hard drive.

I didn't get it but it looks like the guy had better weapons and stuff in the DLC

I just think alot of people were done with the game to really get alot of feedback on it but watch a couple of vids and I think you'll probably like it.

The big hook of this WD is hacking so keep that in mind. It is the main feature. But you certainly can play the game as an action shooter. You will just have to persevere the hacking bits in the single player.

I reckon the world is a pretty decent size. Hardly small but not GTA V. The traffic can be a bit goofy with cars all racing into eachother at intersections causing pile ups. Not all the time but you can sometimes get multiple intersection pile ups within view of eachother and it looks funny.

The street side NPCs chatter and stuff and more can be learnt by hacking their phone conversations or msgs but GTA V does this a bit better. Emergency service vehicles show up from time to time with sirens on heading somewhere and there is decent amount of vehicles to play with. I enjoy jumping into a garbage truck and smashing into everything in my way. The police chases are fun and the hacking adds new ways for ditching the cops.

WD is a fun world of its own. I absolutely love it. There could have been a bit more variety in the settings but overall it is a good package. Don't at all think the city is generic like in an Amazing Spiderman game. There is enough going on to make things feel organic and random.

The ps3 version was one of my fave open worlds games and i didnt even play it that long.
                            it really left an impact.
I picked this up for 15 bucks for the 4 and I love the graphical differences. The world is just as fun as it was on the 3.

If you guys loved this game, there's a new series on TV that seems to be ripped right out of WatchDogs. It's fairly technically accurate too thus far. You can watch the first episode for free on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpxvvnWvffM
