A ton of room for the mechanism behind this game to create a fun experience without as much glitz.

      Re: Watch Dogs

This is why I'm excited that we are having next gen consoles! I hope all the devs follow UBISOFT and have the PC as the lead platform since it would be easier to port the games over to the next gen console (hah that's a switch)! LOOKING AT YOU DICE!

Watch Dogs is targeting PC as lead platform
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has revealed that the promising open-world hack-em-up Watch Dogs is being developed using PC as the lead platform. In an interview with Dutch site Inside Gamer, Guillemot explained how, for once, it's the consoles that are on the receiving end of the port process. I'd joke about PS4 owners being forced to deal with incomprehensible QTEs asking them to press LMB, but I'm

So what’s the benefit of leading with PC over consoles? “We expect fewer problems with porting games to the PS4 than the PS3, which had a completely different infrastructure,” Guillemot said. “Previously, we developed games first on the Xbox 360 and then translated them onto the PS3. It took a lot of time and money to port.”

If only there was a way to play multiplayer cross-platform then I wouldn't even consider a new console.

          Watch Dogs in real life....

NYC, Microsoft Team On Huge Surveillance System

The new Domain Awareness System will pull in data from some 3,000 closed-circuit television cameras in lower and midtown Manhattan, 2,600 radiation detectors distributed to New York Police Department (NYPD) officers on patrol, and 100 license plate readers on bridges, tunnels, streets, and city police cars.

The system, which will support crime prevention and counterterrorism, will relay information "so it can be analyzed and acted upon" by the NYPD, Bloomberg said. The technology has a role "in fighting everyday crime," he said.

According to a joint statement by city officials and Microsoft, the system was developed "by police officers for police officers." Its capabilities include real-time alerts and the ability to display data on maps of the city. Cameras can be programmed to sound an alarm if they spot suspicious activity, such as an unattended package or vehicle parked in front of a building.

New York police commissioner Ray Kelly said the system "allows us to connect the dots" by providing access to crime records, 911 calls, license-plate registration, video, and other data sources.

I think I remember the developer saying that the major advantages to the PS4 version over the PS3 will be in population which then creates a domino affect for the number of scenarios that can occur, the number of people you can hack at any given time, the amount of dynamic events that can occur from your actions, etc.
Just saying CMH that I was having a hard time believing they could make WatchDogs run on the 360/ps3 and have it look like it did in the initial reveal at e3.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I don't get what the hype is around this game, seems like another average-good 3rd person shooter, and the graphics are not even that good for a next-gen game and you know they used the best possible graphics for the trailer and it still looks like a current gen game.
I mean, am I missing something? I can see if this was just a current gen release, it would be impressive graphics wise, but for next-gen, meh. I probably would pick this game up if it came out this spring/summer on current gen consoles, but I can't really see playing this game once the next-gen starts.

                    Re: Watch Dogs

Ubisoft has announced that Watch Dogs will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC in North America on November 19 and in Europe on November 22.

+ launch title for PS4 and the next Xbox whenever those dates are determined/announced.

It will be defined as a great next gen game by the possibilities available to us. We've only seen a couple of clips, if you can turn another direction and engage in 20 or 30 other interventions while this girl in the clip gets killed or beaten it will be set apart. Or what happens if we just shoot the girl and run off, will the guy be arrested? What makes this game look new and different is how it's embraced the sandbox, we just don't get much of that and it remains to be seen if they really pull it off.

From last year's E3 presentation, the co-op capabilties of this game may be groundbreaking. That would be something that other open world games haven't even come close to.

Release date is November. I don't thin we've even seen 5-10 minutes of gameplay.

                        Besides, Ubisoft always delivers.

I disagree, the e3 demo that was released had great draw distance, particle effects, etc that looked better than current systems however I don't think you will necessary see base graphics increase to much with next gen. Imo particle effects, number of players, faces, animations, lighting, etc will all see a major increase.

I think we will see a huge jump in graphics, once developers really figure out how to harness the power of the new system.

Hell, we haven't even gotten close to reaching full potential graphically on PS3 yet, and that console cycle is almost over.
