Re: Nintendo to launch new machine next year.

I've seen a prototype of the N5 already. (The newest nintendo console) and it looks wierd but it takes cds so thats a plus. But what nintendos problem is, that they lost alot of mature gamers. They dont make mature games so of couse they're gonna lose money. Alot of so called mature gamers grew up on NES and they abondoned us with the Gamecube. It all started back on the N64. The artical even stated its popular with the kids. So that right there tells you something.

The Ps2 and the XBOX continue to strive because of its game selection. It has many mature titles as well as some kid titles to choose from. The XBOX does'nt have many kiddie games thats why they're are behind sony. And the lack of of online play for the cube really hurts them also as someone else stated. Its like Nintendo does'nt care about its customers.

Re: Nintendo to launch new machine next year.

I think Nintendo with some of their business decisions will be pulling a Sega with such an early release of a system. Unless Nintendo has half of China working for them there is no way they can get a solid group of launch games out. With Mario and Zelda always has a few years in between. heck the last Mario only took 6 years to make, remember Mario 64 was a launch title on the N64. Also for a system to come out as early as 2005 being that Nintendos fiscal year ends in the first of 2005 where are all the dev kits? Unless Nintendo is trying to alienate all third parties someone like EA would have one by now and with the lack of secrecy due to the internet that info would already be out.

One other thing of note is that some of the articles are misleading, the latest news releases over in Japan do not say anything about console or gamecube replacement. Simply hardware. Even the article posted above does not say if it is a handheld.

What is Sony releasing next year? What is Nintendos bread and butter? What games generally take less then a year to develop, especially when you can go back and use console titles and prt them over (something the big N is very good at).

Something tells me Nintendo has a new handheld up their sleve, at least I hope they do because a new console this early is not the best move.

Prey tell where did you see this? Also Nintendo has yet to officially name it anything (even a concept name)? So if you are refering to something you saw on the IGN or gamespot borads then you have witnessed someones boredom.

N5 is simply a concept name and they go through a few. If you recall the Gamecube was the Dolphin for the longest time.

It was in a issue of GMR. That gaming mag from EB games. Dont you work for EB? Anyway, it was in there with a interview with some rep from Nintendo. The questions they asked him were the same questions that go though all of our heads. Why so many kid games? What happened to the 3rd party support? And why no online yet? And in the artical were photos of the N5. (Nintendo's 5th console) But like I said, it was just a prototype. It was multiple photos of the front, back and an angled shot of it. I would'nt make all this up. It was in a issue about 2 or 3 months ago. I'm not sure if they have a web site, but I'll try to look it up for you. I still dont know what GMR stands for.
