Well once again had the article had an actual prototype from Nintendo one would have seen it in a thousand posts over at IGN. Maybe the did a mock up of what they thought it would look like? Even EGM did this in one of their magazines and used pictures they found on the internet.

I dont know, you may be right. I'm not suprised that no pics showed up on the internet because I'm like the only one who has a subscription to the POS magazine. Its cover stories are good but previews and reviews suck worse than a EB games user reviews. I defintly sure the pics I see wont be the next Nintendo console, espicially since it wont be released until a year and a half from now. Maybe next year but I doubt it. I do remember seeing pics of the so called "Dolphin" and it looked nothing like the GameCube today. I cant remember it to good, but was'nt the rumor for the dolphin was that it was disc based and cartridge based? Anyway, If I had a scanner or access to one, I'd be happy to scan those pics. But if you wanna, I can use MS Paint and draw it for ya.

Oh BTW, I like the name N5, I hope they keep it. No more cubes, dolphins and supers, N5 is catchy.

EDIT: If the pics were a mock, why would they have such detailed photos. I mean, they showed the back of the thing for crying out loud. I remember it saying the controlers were to go in the back of the machine. And the front had to slots for memory cards or something. Or was it vice versa Well, why would a magazine fabricate such info? I mean, even if it was'nt the actual console why would Nintendo be afraid to show of pics of a prototype? And you read the IGN boards? No wonder why this place is so civilized. You make sure it does'nt turn into the chaos thats over there.

Re: Nintendo to launch new machine next year.

I think because many people have more fun speculating on the new Nintendo system then playing the existing one. At one time there was an art contest on IGN for coming up with the next gen console. Some of the renders done were amazing and one was so good it even got in the EGM magazine. You have to remember that Nintendo has not released any information on the system other then who will be making the processor. Why would they be putting up pictures of what it was to look like? Nintendo just does not work that way.

The iQue is Nintendo's new console they have announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2003. The controller-style console plugs directly into the TV and comes with a 64 Mega Bytes Flash Memory Card to store the games.

The launch unit will contain a 64MBytes Flash Card, the AV cable, a power supply (220V), the power cord and 5 games pre-recorded on the card. Included are 5 games. Unfortunately, only Doctor Mario will be a full version. Zelda 64: Ocarina of Time (10 hours), Mario 64 (7 hours), Wave Race (1 hour) and Star Fox (1 hour) are time limited demo versions. It is indeed a very new systems.

No other titles have been officially confirmed as of yet, but the N64 has got lots of great titles. Full versions of games cost 48Yuan/US$6.

The iQue is slated for a release friday next week in Shanghai, and will later hit other parts of China.

Here is a link to a pic of the controller of the IQUE

Wait just read this a lil more closely this is basiclly just a redone N64. With more features.

Re: Nintendo to launch new machine next year.

There's no way the system that will debut at E3 will be the N5. George Harrison has stated developing kits haven't even been sent out to 3rd parties yet, and he said for their next system it was vital they give the kits 1.5-2yrs in advance to develops so they can develop top notch games and have time to work on the games. I'm sure the system will be the next GameBoy.

Most people say the N5 has to have a harddrive, online gaming, and use CD format ..... well the Xbox already has that right now. I'm amazed a rookie console like the Xbox has come in and defeated the veteran Nintendo on just their first try in North America.

Nintendo has clearly stated they will not do online gaming unless they can turn a profit. They don't see online gaming as a big deal. ALso they haven't corrected their problems of Mature, Sport, and 3rd party titles with the GameCube like they said they were after the N64. I bought a GC near launch and traded it in for a Xbox.

I can tell you right now they have to prove to me with their next system they have corrected these problems. I have already decided I will not buy a N5 at launch. Of course if more people have the some opinion as I do, they are in trouble. Since if a lot of people take a wait and see approach they won't sell any systems. I wish Nintendo would just go 3rd party (although they said they would never do that), considering their games are good, but everything else is better on other systems. Which is why I don't get why Nintendo [censored you naughty boy] can't admit this. When people cancel games they always say it's not a big deal because the games sucked anyways and Nintendo games are way better, well if this was true wouldn't it be in their best interest to go 3rd party since it would save them money from buying one less console?
