Re: PS2 not attempting to read any discs.

Well when I turn on the PS2 and I go into the browser and at the bottom where its suppost to read, READING DISC.... Well it isn't there, and when I take out the disc and put it back in it says READING DISC... for about 1 and a half seconds and then it goes away and nothing happens. Your exact problem occured with my PS2. The wierd thing was that it happened exactly one year to the day of purchase. (One year warranty done) I tried everything from buying different lense cleaners to placing it in its vertical position. Nothing worked. I called Sony and they said I would have to pay to get it fixed. Ultimately I went out and had to buy a new PS2.
