So, I back-burnered this for a long time because I had several other games to get through (did the same with Graces, actually), but with the sequel coming out next month I finally powered through and beat it last night - well, part of it at least.

Did Milla's playthrough first, and I kind of regret that. It seems like that story was used to fill in the gaps in Jude's playthrough rather than the reverse. You find out about some plot points sooner as Milla (such as Exodus, I've reached that point in a Jude playthrough now) and you get the scenes at Fort Gandala and the Spirit Realm (as well as a PITA solo boss fight in the latter). Unfortunately the events that happened to the rest of the group while Milla was in the Spirit Realm were spoiled in a skit at Elympios, so I already have some idea of what to expect when I get there with Jude. Shame because that seems like one of the more climactic moments of the game.

Story was better than most Tales games I've played, pretty engaging. Gaius is pretty much the most respectful final boss I've ever seen. Can't wait for Xillia 2 to continue the tale. It's easy to see why it will have a darker atmosphere since it apparently takes place mostly in Elympios.

Was just never a fan of upgrading the shops through loot. It just seemed like a chore to be able to progress through the game without lowering the difficulty level. I did drop to normal from hard in order to get it done before the new one comes out, and even on normal I found myself gring up the AI controlled characters to survive some later bosses. The final battle with Gaius and Muzet was particularly annoying - Muzet had like 3 different types of healing including a one-time auto-revive which made her extremely hard to kill while Gaius just tore me up.

I'm blowing through Jude's playthrough now for the rest of the scenes and story, and doing so with a 5x Experience boost I got from the Grade Shop in New Game+. Shouldn't take too long and I already know the points where the story diverges so I can do a lot of skipping.

I ended up getting the Platinum for this. I just need to get another PS3, so I can play Xillia 2, Zesteria, and especially Persona 5.

I didn't read/watch it except for the score, and that was just out of curiosity. About what I expect JRPG's to get from IGN these days.

I just got Tales of Graces f (my first Tales game). Got it for $10, and I'm looking forward to it. Always wanted to try out a Tales game, especially after my friend played Xillia.
