Re: Counter Strike Impressions!!
For those who want some Xbox Counterstrike impressions, I can give some.
First off, I want to say that I have played this game online only. No single player experience yet. Now on to my brief impressions.
CS is a minor letdown to me. But don't get me wrong. It's not because of the game itself, as it's not bad at all. However, it's more of the fact that Rainbow Six 3 has spoiled me and raised my expectations for this game. Anyway, in comparison to RS3, CS is more of an up-tempo run-and-gun pace with larger maps and less overall strategy involved. You have to buy weapons and other accessories at the start of the mission and while standing over certain spots on the maps. You can make money by racking up kills, finding hostages, and detonating/diffusing bombs. With more money you can buy better [censored you naughty boy], plain and simple. And for those cheap bastids, you can also pick up dead people's weapons and use them yourself, which is very cool.
Now with that said, I prefer the slower pacing and more tactical approach to FPS that Rainbow Six 3 emphasizes. That's not to diss CS in any way because like I said -- it's a good game. It's just not really my cup of tea. Regardless, fans and experts of the PC version of CS may like this one as well. And keep in mind that I've only played this game on Live with no single player experience at all.
In summary, I will say this: RTCW lovers will love CS too, and Ghost Recon lovers will prefer RS3 over CS.
