Yeah, unless the 800 series is revolutionary (and even then I'd solo probably wait a year to get bugs squished) I'm sticking with my SLI GTX 680 FTW+ (the 4GB version). nVidia/eVGA did a superb job on the heat and noise on this line, especially compared to the previous.

true but I'm patient when it comes to this so I don't mind waiting it out...

I agree with you waiting stance. The heat/noise issue isn't enough to justify the price upgrade from 580-680. Hopefully by the time I upgrade it will be like... To dual 990s because I have hope for some crazy stuff in our future.

          Not sure why not

          They both had scripted sequences

          Short campaigns

Similar FPS characteristics like most of these games are seeming to follow behind, and that's the point. The direction the games have gone in is making the genre stale.

            Re: Battlefield 4

What's weird is Bad Company 2's campaign had more flanking routes, more random destruction, and a much less linear approach to the campaign than Battlefield 3 did and BF3 was supposed to excelt with Frostbie 2.

I can see some similarities with the story lines and the objective by objective approach to the campaign, but outside of that the two games aren't comparable at all IMO.

At the end of the day, I won't buy a Battlefield game for the campaign, but I can see reason for some concern by someone who would be purchasing for a really stellar campaign or any other single player features.

So are you PC gamers saying their won't be a big difference between lets say the GTX680 and the upcoming GTX700's?

They are in no way the same game or even similar. Battlefield has WAY WAY WAY bigger maps, not all close combat, vehicles, bullet drop, you can actually be a sniper from long distance.. I could go on.

So tired of seeing every FPS is like COD. Way overused.

The single player campaign is similar.

Unless they come out with something revolutionary that I haven't heard about...

There wasn't much of a difference at all between the 480/580 they were within ~5-10% of each other on everything... The 680 took a HUGE step forward in the power consumption and processing of textures.

The 700 series will still be Kepler based (as opposed to the Maxwells which I'm assuming will roll out with the 800 series.)

I'd say it's probably realistic to expect a 5-10% increase from a 680 going to a 780. Maybe a little bit more, but nothing drastic.

                        You're right.

So is every other FPS that is about war, eh?

I would say Bad Company's single player campaign is more unique.

                            Pretty much what I said.

The only other console game different was Red River..Ghost Recon used to have its own uniqueness

why would anyone get a Battlefield game for the campaign? The older Battlefields didn't even have a campaign mode, the single player was just a local unranked multiplayer session with AI bots for enemies.
