Re: Battlefield 4
My advice is use the big maps to your advantage if you are playing rush or conquest. Take your time and flank the enemy, no matter how much of a noob you are it's hard for the enemy to kill you if your behind them or to the side.Comment

Re: Battlefield 4
Stick with it. You'll get better with every hour you play, you just need some experience. Staying alive is mostly about positioning. Learn where the enemies tend to be when they have specific points of the map and try to flank that position. Of course, there may be a few guys on the way around, but if you can get through, you're gonna pick up a lot of kills from behind as well as allowing your team to push up.
It works the same way with vehicles. You don't have to drive straight on in a tank. Try getting behind them to hit their weak point, unless they're running staff shells, they shouldn't be able to recover.

Re: Battlefield 4
Gentlemen, can I join the club. Got BF4 for Xmas and I"m the poster child for a FPS noob. Haven't played a BF4/COD style game in years, but BF4 just looked too dang good and fun to pass up.
I'm on PS4 and would love to get my feet wet with some guys of similar skill until I can knock the massive amount of rust off.

Re: Battlefield 4
I was sucking last night in a few games with fresh and magic. They left but I stayed in the same lobby and played a few more games solo.
I switched up to the Saiga in engineer so I could use the law.
Damn man I had some amazing games, second game I went 17 and 19 but in 4th on my side. I think I found my odd niche where I can contribute greatest. Shotgun, rockets, and repairing vehicles it is for me!

Just kidding dude,it can be overwhelming at first just don't give up...I know how frustrating it can be.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Battlefield 4
This game has really done more harm than good to the franchise. I'd advise people to stay away from this mess and go get a game that runs properly. http://www.joystiq.com/2013/12/30/ba...various-platf/"If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: Battlefield 4
I just had to complain real quick that's all. I jumped into a 64 player Conquest it was insane. We got to try it and best believe we will die often. Can't believe the size of these maps.Comment

Re: Battlefield 4
For the new guys, BF4 isn't necessarily a reflex game like the COD series. It takes a bit more anticipation and patience, but quite honestly, your K/D ratio shouldn't be the priority unless all you do is TDM. The team-based modes are, IMHO, a lot more fun and you can rack up points just doing the simple things like dropping a med kit or an ammo pack. Avoiding death is important when you're attacking, as each death bleeds a ticket away. Likewise if you're the last alive in your squad, you'll want to stay alive as a mobile spawn point.
Generally speaking, just look at your squad and figure out what they need - if there are 3 medics in the squad, best bet is to not be another medic. Need overwatch? Use recon, set a spawn beacon near the objective(s), and plant a motion tracker to help mass-spot enemies. If it's a vehicle-heavy map, you can never go wrong with the mechanic class.
The weapons you use will also have to change depending on the map. If you're in a closed-area map like Op Locker, you'll want a weapon with a faster fire rate and perhaps is more accurate from the hip. Likewise you wouldn't need a long-range scope on those types of maps, so stick with a precise RDS or Holographic. Obviously for bigger maps, you can go with weapons that perform better at longer distances, like assault or sniper rifles.
The big thing is spotting for me. That R1 (on PS4) button should be your best friend. It always helps your team to spot enemies. I can't tell you how many times I've been shot in the back because no one is spotting and I like to think I have clear routes from cover to cover.
Also if you're having trouble in 1-on-1 gun battles, move in groups with your squad and/or teammates. This is good advice regardless, but in many instances, the enemy won't be able to mow down an entire group of you. While you get the hang of the weapons, you can get kills responding to threats as a group instead of solo. Running lone wolf is the COD tactic of choice, but in BF4 it just doesn't work real well. You need that team cohesion to advance and attack objectives (Rush and Conquest).
You'll never win a Rush match going all Leeeeeeroy Jenkins on the MCOMs!Comment

Re: Battlefield 4
I played some China Rising maps last night. The matches were fun, but I'm not sure on the maps.

To piggyback on this, if you suck at BF4, focus on doing things to help out your squad. Screw your K/D. That will improve it time.
Spot, drop ammo, drop meds, revive teammates, call out enemies, plant claymores, etc.Comment
