Re: Battlefield 4
EA Games Label Executive Vice President Patrick Söderlund is quite excited about the next generation, and thinks that when the smoke of the battle between PS4 and Xbox One will clear, EA itself and the gamers will emerge as the true victors, as he expressed during a larger interview on the Japanese gaming site 4Gamer when asked about his impression on the rivalry the two next generation consoles:
Yeah…I wonder if we’ll be the winners in the end (laughs). But, seriously speaking, since the the next generation machines were announced, even those in the media have been telling me things like “It was an unprecedented audience rating”. In terms of this E3, if the fans of our games and the fans of other titles are willing to pay attention, that’s the most important thing.
Vitality is back in the industry. That’s a positive thing, and a situation where everyone can be the winner, including gamers, would be the best outcome. In any case, since we’ll focus on both next-gen consoles we will be the sure winners.
He also talked about the reasons why the first DLC of Battlefield 4 will be a Xbox timed exclusive:
Our idea is giving omnidirectional support to all platforms as before. Of course we established a friendly relationship with Microsoft as well. For the release of “Second Assault” maintaining the cooperation with Microsoft is one of the reasons, but it’s also partly because the multiplayer of Battlefield 3 has been strongly supported by the Xbox community, and we’re showing gratitude for that support.
When the interviewer asked if that “omnidirectional” support also included the Wii U, Söderlund has to step back, but just a little.
Electronic Arts released Mass Effect 3 and FIFA 13 for the Wii U, but currently we’re focusing our resources on Xbox One and PS4, so it’s a fact that the priority (of the Wii U) is slightly lower. Howerver making Frostbite 3 work on the Wii U is not impossible. Where there are gamers, we’ll be there as well. This is the true meaning of “omnidirectional”
I guess Nintendo fans can feel a little relieved, as “not impossible” is definitely better than “oh hell no!” On the other hand, I find myself quite in agreement with what Söderlund said about who will win the next generation console war. Not as much for EA itself, but a situation with a revitalized industry where solid competitors battle it out is definitely advantageous for the gamers. Source: 4GamerPeople are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Battlefield 4
Seriously. We all know it's business.
I'm not salty about MS getting the DLC first, it's business. They look worse (to me, personally) when they try to make up reasons about why it's on one machine first. If Sony paid you? Say Sony paid you. If MS paid you? Say MS paid you. No big deal.badComment

Re: Battlefield 4
Here you go, English.
Battlelog is a free social platform that ties into Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 3 and lets you socialize, track stats, plan your next game, and more from your web browser!
"With Battlefield, 4 your mobile device and tablet become a window into your game. Get a tactical view of the battlefield, highlight attack points on the mini map, and track your squad mates, all from your device or computer. The improved Battlelog will also allow you to more fluidly control your play sessions. Change your weapons and load outs in real time or select your next match and server without leaving your game. Want to check on your progression while you’re playing? You don’t have to pause or leave – just reach for your mobile."
We’re also evolving the way that you compare and compete. Want to know who among your friends is the best tank destroyer or who can capture the most bases? With the new Missions feature you’ll be able to create custom challenges for your friends. A completed mission or improvement on a current record will notify your friends, letting them know it’s time to log on and try to take back their title!
Geo-localized leaderboards will allow players to focus on the area that means the most to them. Compare statistics on the city, country, continental, and global levels. Make new friends and rivals with people near and far as you compete on the scale that you choose.
These improvements are just part of how we’re making Battlefield 4 the best Battlefield ever. Pre-order Battlefield 4 today!
