Re: Battlefield 4
I don't do any flying but as infantry I can say that getting attacked by a chopper is one of the only moments in the game that makes me say "what in the holy hell is that?!?!" while it's raining bombs on me and my screen is shaking all over the place. It's like the suppression effect times fifty. I hate it.
Other than that, like I said I don't fly, but almost everything in this game is like that to a certain extent: just slightly less powerful than you'd ideally want.
Sounds like a classic case of rubber-banding. Awful. Hopefully by the time all the patches and DLC are released we'll have the game everyone thought we were getting at release.Last edited by NEOPARADIGM; 02-10-2014, 04:02 PM.Comment

Re: Battlefield 4
I can't fly for crap,so I like to be the gunner...but DAMN if those guns aren't worthless, same goes for the tanks...I'm usually a pretty good gunner, but what good does it do when you get hit after hit to only see the dude "bunny hop" behind cover.Anyone else that fly just feel like rockets are worthless in choppers? I'm so tired of releasing all rounds in a heli for the guy to still be alive even if I get hit markers on every shot.
Then I get hit with an igla and blow up without warning.
BC had the best vehicle weapon dmg ratio.
BF:BC2 had .50 cal damage perfect (imo)...why they felt the need to nerf it was beyond me...I guess that's what happens when people whine and cry about getting shot in the face.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Truth. If you are getting shot at in BF4 by a mounted .50 on a damn Abrams, from a game point of view, two hits MAX should finish you.I can't fly for crap,so I like to be the gunner...but DAMN if those guns aren't worthless, same goes for the tanks...I'm usually a pretty good gunner, but what good does it do when you get hit after hit to only see the dude "bunny hop" behind cover.

Re: Battlefield 4
I feel like the RPG is fine. I can usually disable a helicopter with just one hit, and shot down a few when we were playing yesterday. Also for IFV and tanks I feel like two well placed shots can do a lot of damage. I have used the RPG almost exclusively since Bad Company 2, and I seem to always have success with it.Conversely I feel like RPG's need a big buff. If you're gonna be shooting a weapon with no assistance whatsoever I feel like you should be rewarded. I keep going back to the SRAW because there is not enough benefit to using the old school RPG.
Speaking of BFBC2, I remember you could drop any chopper with one hit of the RPG...but it took skill to do.Comment

Battlefield 4
Yeah I think the RPG is fine. I dislike how you get a mobility hit with any launcher, and the chopper crashes, and you get nothing. You should get kills and points when that happens

Re: Battlefield 4
Dan, when I was deployed, Abrams were getting smoked by single RPG 7's.
Butttt.. I can recall a time we drove into an ambush and three Haj' missed our MRAP from about 25 meters. Started out level with our vehicle then just went vertical about 5 meters off.
I also seen Haj take about 8 5.56 rounds, get up and book it.5Comment

Re: Battlefield 4
The .50 cal gunner seat in tanks are fine as it it. They're capable of shooting down pesky infantry who run up on the tank. You're only there to support the driver and watch his back. You aren't supposed to be going 30-0 sitting in the gunner seat. No way should it be two or three shot kill.Comment

the .50 cal in tanks is NOT fine. Nobody said anything about going "30-0",so not sure what the point of that was.The .50 cal gunner seat in tanks are fine as it it. I'm well aware of what their used for,and as I've already mentioned getting several hits and the guy just bunny hops away...this to me does not seem fine.
Put it this way....I've exhausted the rounds in a .50 cal, getting hit markers every time, and yet the dude STILL doesn't die...yea,this screams "fine" to me.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Battlefield 4
That's what and how I think it should be. And that's why vehicles need to be more respected in terms of availability. The .50 cal gunner seat in tanks are fine as it it. Either increase the spawn times by a lot, or make vehicles available per squad score.
Chopper rockets, 25+ MM, 50 cal etc should be feared.
Not a 5.56 DMR.
I've ran through 50 cal rounds to drop c4 on a tank.
It is what it is though. I enjoy the game and try not to get too frustrated. But I was a fan of BC 1+2 balance.
Vehicles were powered but very vulnerable if you just ran in. I don't know how many hit markers I get on tanks without blowing it up. Even when targeting weak points.5Comment

Re: Battlefield 4
Yes, I would say the damage output is fine as it is. The only thing that I would probably change is allowing you to fire a little longer before overheating.
Someone mentioned it should be a two shot kill. That would just make it ridiculously easy. I'm just implying 30-0 would be easy to come by if the gunner seat was to kill someone that easily.Comment
