Not all snipers don't play the objective. Especially in game modes like Rush snipers can be very effective. Take out the enemy snipers, get behind enemy lines and put down a radio becon, continue to use the PLD spotting enemies, continue to take out stationary defenders.

        Battlefield 4

Platoons are gonna be released soon like they were in BF3. I'll create a page when it's available so we can all join it. I doubt we will pursue anything competitive, so it'll be just for fun & guys like mikenoob can join without conflicting with KCK

Oh, maybe I was thinking about another one. I remember you having to leave the OS page bc a team you were on like disallowed being on two competitive platoons or something lol

eF you are a good guy, and I don't think this was directed at you. I appreciate having you on my team. There's nothing wrong with having a guy or two on rooftops (flag at Shanghai at top is obvious exception), but having a whole squad up there for the sole purpose of cherry-picking can be grating.

I have no truck with Recon players who make an attempt to use the class in a fashion that benefits the team.

I don't often use Recon myself; I'm a known Engineer/Support guy. However, when I do, I choose Dos Equis

For example, when I Recon in the Shanghai levels, I like to try to rooftop it, use my PLD a LOT and spot, spot, spot. I will snipe from there as well but I always spot first as recon, and shoot later. I'd rather miss the opportunity for the quick kill at long range and have that soldier Dorito'd for my teammates to get than not spot him, shoot and miss and he makes it to cover. Not to mention giving my position away.

I need to play Recon a little more and unlock the spawn beacon as well, as that's another handy device to help the team (especially beneficial in Rush mode).

If Recon is used correctly, it can do a lot to expose the enemy to your team's guns for easier kills (especially guys like Bolt who really have map useage down), you can provide spawn points by making your way to a forward but secure spot and placing spawn beacon, then retreat and find a good vantage point for spotting/sniping.

You can even do 'close' spotting and shooting if you have an assault or support guy with you and work as a team....loadout a carbine or DMR.

There are some players out there that give Recon a bad rep, but if used with a team-first mentality it can be a great asset.

EDIT: just saw Canesfins post and he said the same **** much more efficiently. lol

Yeah, I gave up on them. Played with them since cod4, but I never realized how much bitching they do, removed most of those guys and kept only a few.

I play recon about 80% of the time. I usually finish AT LEAST in the top ten whenever I do.

Just to be clear my comments about sniping wasn't directed at anyone here personally - I have no issues with snipers when they truly do help out the team objective. I think we can all agree though that there is a large contingency of dudes who do it just so they can brag about their K/D ratio and bring nothing to the table towards the team- that is who bothers me.

Sorry if I offended anyone, wasn't my intention.

AKA sniping on Operation Locker when everyone else is getting their hands dirty.

I suck at the game and have accepted that. But to just sit around hoping to rack up kills is a major waste of time IMO.

                      But whatever.

DMR is the way to go for me when playing Recon. It's the perfect mix of range and power to still play aggressive.

I don't care what map people snipe as long as they can snipe and contribute. For every idiot on a roof sniping miles away from an objective going 2-3, there's a support player going 3-12 not dropping ammo; same goes with medics, and engineers not dropping anti tanks on heavy vehicle maps.

I can't play this game without at least one OSer. The average IQ of a blueberry is beyond frustrating.

Last night, during operation locker, I planted the bomb and watched a guy kill me and not even go for the defuse. Instead he continued on to hunt kills due to the fact (assuming) defusing left him vulnerable to be killed.

Which brings me to this: it's not about crappy snipers, engineers, assault, support... It's about people's inability to play the objective or at least support players playing the objective.

When i snipe I'm no further than 10 meters behind Bolt, Pito, Jnes, etc a majority of the time spotting or killing. Then we take the objective and move on.

Oh, blue and Dan. I was just busting balls earlier. I totally get your point(s).

Yea when medic & support don't drop supplies it really pisses me off. I'm sitting there with 10 health asking for a med pack and the guy looks at me then runs off.

The recon guys who use that laser tagging of vehicles...I love you guys.
