This is a game I had last night on conquest, as a sniper.



Finished ahead of 5 100* fellas just on my team alone.

Just thought I share. Partially to show how effective a sniper can be. But let's be honest, mostly to show off how bad *** I am!

That is a sweet round as a sniper, Dom. Great work!

As it pertains to the current conversation here about snipers it is a good example of doing it right. He won several ribbons including a flag ribbon for capping. His score is indicative of doing more than just killing as well. Nicely done

Sniping on Rush is for real men. Conquest sniping is for the amateurs.

So lets just have 20 guys all sitting in unreachable spots and the game will just be a blast to play. Custom servers cant come soon enough

I've never seen that - have you? .... nope... so why complain?
I snipe all the time and usually there are about 4-6 enemy snipers at a given time (I look for them often or I'm dead). And for some reason I've noticed less on my own team at a given time. That sounds like a pretty good balance to me. If you're getting picked off all the time maybe you need to change the way you play.

I saw 8 people at the end of a conquest match all on the dam on the dam map, that was the most ridiculous I've seen... and they weren't even all using snipers w/ scopes, it was more of a joke.

It's just part of warfare - and if you havea sniper with a scope equiped, to do well you actually HAVE to stay put when you're shooting for the most part. that's what it's designed for, you have no accuracy otherwise and would get disorientated moving around too much. It's about getting a nice spot with a view, spotting and shooting until it becomes dry and you need to move to another spot. But the recon class is not the best for sitting on top of a flag and is a way to get killed a lot. ALL the other classes are better at CQC, and in my opinion it's balanced. If your out in the open (and stationary even worse), and you get picked off from 600m away... why is that an issue? C'est la vie ... I'm not fond of Tanks and get killed by them on occasion and depending on my setup feel doomed, but I don't want them out of the game - that's crazy.

Finally, I don't care how other people think I SHOULD play my game. There are a whole variety of players I think are stupid, but it's not my place to tell them to change (or force them via booting) for all I know you're the guy whining all match that I have to go into the pause menu and mute you because you don't realize your kinect is on and you're annoying the hell out of everyone.. Which brings me to another point - those rented servers with customization - they want to ban sniper rifles? ... or perhaps it's only when a host gets killed by a recon he will go and boot him? Will people have huge conquest maps, with no sniper rifles and think it's normal? It's an entire class of weapons the developers put in the game on purpose and are balanced by the way...sounds weird.

I have never allowed other play styles to make it not fun... personally I capture an average of 2 flags per round with anywhere from 7-15 kills and usually score 5-7 thousand total points, sometimes much higher (like my 21-1) but these numbers I expect on the regular.

It actually would be a real blast if you are using the XM25 Airburst. But I'm guessing you play assault.

A bigger issue I have, and I feel personally is a bigger issue in random games than snipers, are dudes who play conquest as assault, engineer, whatever, and just run around shooting people. How many times I spawn on a guy, and Im already capturing an objective, and dude runs off I'm like, good job capturing this flag. Or Ill die trying to cap, and Ill see dudes on the map running away from the objective.
