That's a good point, I'll play the base game for a while and maybe get Second Assault after I get better. And I'll keep a look out for the premium sales, thanks man

To all new fellows on the PS4, please add me, I still play it regulary (base/classic maps) ... thus my PSN + needs to be renewed, which should be done either late tonight or tomorrow in the afternoon.

Community Operations DLC and fall update come out tomorrow

Community Operations, the Battlefield 4 expansion pack designed with input from the community over the past eight months, will launch on October 27, Electronic Arts has announced. The focus of the DLC, which is offered free to everyone across all platforms, is the Community Operations map.

The DLC has been in the works since February 2015. Developer DICE LA started with a "blank canvas" and built the map and decided what other content to include based on reasonable fan feedback. The result is a map that looks so good you may not have guessed it was developed in this non-traditional manner.

Operation Outbreak is set in a jungle, featuring a medical research facility (that formerly conducted experiments on monkeys), an ancient temple, and a waterfall. It's an infantry-focused map, but it does support some vehicles such as the RHIB and quad bikes.

Throughout the course of its development, the Operation Outbreak map was playable in Battlefield 4's community test environment, with players submitting feedback and DICE tweaking the map accordingly. Check out a trailer for the new DLC above, while some additional images follow in the gallery below.

Launching alongside the Community Operations DLC is Battlefield 4's fall update. Patch notes have not been revealed, but those should come soon.

I think the community map is awesome. Played 6 large conquest games in a row and wanted more. LOTS of action because of all the hot spots, seems like more than any other map except locker but without bottlenecks because it's totally open. Good ship!

I have to agree 110%. The map is a little bit of everything for everyone. Has choppers and bigger armored vehicles for that crowd, but lots of great infantry battles as well. The 'B' point has to be one of my favorite capture points in the game, with the waterfall and the little sewer tunnels underneath. All in all, terrific job.

The update itself has been great too. Really loving the additions to the mini-map with the perimeter of the capture point in Conquest outlined and also the elevation difference between you and the enemy shown by the size of their icon. Loads of great changes though.

I've found that the scoring change for capping a point has really helped my skill level. I would typically finish top 10 on my team with a few MVP ribbons here and there but now its rare for me to finish outside the top 5 overall, win or lose. My skill level went from around 275 to just under 400 in a matter of 5hrs of play tonight.

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing to be honest lol. I'm a very rush oriented player who loves capping and defending bases that are being capped. Mostly infantry with the odd tank or LAV run here and there.

Overall, just over the moon that two years later this game is still being worked on and significantly improved.

Still exclusively playing that one map! I'll probably roll into to other maps soon or just give it a rest as fallout is coming.

But I've been rolling with shotguns and doing very well which again speaks to the "any style goes" with the map. Not many other maps can you run around knifing and shot-gunning people, and at any time switch to a DMR, or sniper and completely shift your attack.

Speaking of knifing - this map is probably #1 for opportunities even though it's in the day! All the sudden elevation changes and vegetation makes it possible. I'm getting at least 1 per match, I went from around 55 total to over 80. Doesn't seem like a ton but it really is... and I'm always on the lookout to get more tags, but it aint easy!

Another thing is that Predator-esque Jesse Ventura machine gun - found by the downed chopper, that thing is a BEAST!

I'm loving the updates to the mini map:

                        • Show if a player is above or below you
                        • Burn radius for a flag

...only thing I don't like is the nerf to C4 but otherwise, I'm a happy camper. This game is just about perfect, save for the moronic morter/UCAVs.

For the BF newbies like me, a tip: try and get onto a clan, doing so, playing with known people, doing squad objectives and such go a long way into making you a better player in terms of the stats you get.

I had been slowly becoming better and better but once I joined this clan (spanish people, my native langiuage is spanish thus I would have joined english speakers), I have become a more well rounded player, getting tons of points/score, kills and wins ... I still have my bad performance matches but are more, much more far in between.

And if the clan you join constantly communicates, even better, you can cover each other backs and defficiencies quite well.

By the way, add me if you guys so feel like (PS4): ffaacc03

Yeah, since the begining I tend to spot as much as my eroding stick skills allow me, vehicules, infantry, sometimes even birds, lol ... maybe that is weighted heavily onto squads ?

The objectives focus comes and goes, if I see my squad teammates going mostly for the kills, I center on taking/protecting the objectives ... If they do the opposite I go for the kills.

I still have most of my bad moments when in close quarter combat, the afore mentioned limited skills I have along with my bad right stick (clickest and moves by its own sometimes) cost me, but on medium to long range (not sniping, dont like being a sniper) and with good connection, I do better.

But again, playing with a squad, with known people, with teammates that communicate, helps you do better, much better ... I now call it the "force shield", since when I am with the clan I do differently.
