My point exactly. These are a few things that stuck out of the scores.

    "8.3 OVERALL:
(out of 10 / not an average)

    6.7 Average Reader Score"

Yes, 6.7 is exactly ehat I would of rated it. Here's another.

    "9.0 Lasting Appeal
Revolution mode is long, but suffers from redundancy. Chaos is over in three to five minutes, but with a friend or two, it could last forever. This game screams for a sorely missing two-player mode."

How can redundancy be fun? How can it be a 9.0 if its redundant? Like I said, IGN is nuthugging RockStar. Then they give Manhunt a high score?!??!? That game is redundant and repetitive. Its examples like that that you can use to prove points to a person who actually respects the IGNs and the Gamespots reviews.

Agreed, IGN pretty much butt-rides certain developers......State of Emergency received an 8.3

I picked up the game the other day. I will say its "out there." I have no idea if I like it or not. I will say it feels wierd to play. I have no idea if I will return it or not the subject matter is just creepy.

It's more or less a stealth game with gruesome cutscene kils thrown in for shock value. I enjoy it quite a bit, but I'm a strange fellow some might say. The story is that you are a death row inmate that has been "saved" by a person who calls himslef the director. He puts you into Carcer City (a real slum) and forces you to kill the gangs that he sends after you to survive. In the process of the killing you are also making a personal "snuff film" for the director as well, who is constantly razzing you in your ear.(only you can hear him, kinda cool with a headset). I guess the story itslef is kinda disturbing if you take it seriously.
