Game is going great so far...only problem is Runic's account management site is down so you can't create an account or login and play online. However you can start a single player game for now and then when the site is running transfer it over to an online game if you wish.

This is from the account manager screen.....

This does not affect your ability to play internet multiplayer Torchlight II.
Apparently you don't need to have an account to play online....

People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

I dunno...I can't go past the internet login window without a username and password, and I can't get to the account management page to link them so...

Back to single-player, I guess. Was hoping it would be back up when I got home from work.

          Re: Torchlight 2

As of 4:00 AM I was finally able to get to Runic's site, create an account and link it to Steam. I can now play online.

Very reminiscent of D3's Day One issues, with the notable exception that instead of just starting the game by now, I'm already at Level 12 and beat the first boss.

I guess overworlds aren't randomly generated as I can return to a map I've already explored in a previous session and it will still show as explored, plus I don't run into any enemies. Dungeons do seem to repopulate, though.

This is excellent because I really enjoy exploring in TL2. The map seems more open compared to D3 and doesn't just push you through. Having to fight the same enemies everytime I went back to a map might deter me from going to every corner of every map.

Pretty cool new mod out. Adds Necromancer class.
Have you already clicked all of Torchlight 2's many monsters into a fine paste of gibbed chunks? Then the Synergies mod could be exactly what you're looking for. It's a huge overhaul of the game, billed as a "Full Conversion" that adds in a number of new Elite-class mobs, extra maps and bosses and an entirely new class. Amazingly, this is all without the still unreleased GUTS game editor.

I know I am a little late but there is a option to reset those areas again before you start a game.

I'm itching for a new game and this has caught my eye. At $19.99, it seems like I really can't go wrong. I assume it's worth that, or should I just wait until the Steam summer sale (July maybe?)

TL and TL2 go on sale at least once every month via Steam daily deal. If money is an issue and you can wait, you can easily get TL2 for 50% or more. With that said, the game is still worth well over $20.
