The only games I will likely be purchasing to add to my current rotation of NCAA 13, Skate 3, and Battlefield 3 are Grand Theft Auto 5, The Last of Us, and Halo 4. There's nothing else out there that excites me
It may be my mind playing tricks on me or the fact that most kids want every new game that comes out, but I don't seem to be interested in nearly as many games anymore. It also may be the fact that I'm paying for all of my games now.
Anyways, now that I'm done rambling about my gaming woes, I thought it would be interesting to discuss some games that you guys remember playing that need a reboot or something the gaming industry is missing that would help breathe some new life. I have zero interest in the PS Move or Kinect. I'm really hoping those technologies don't sell extremely well and dictacte the future of gaming.
I'll list a few:
Vigilante 8 - I loved playing the original almost as much as I loved Twisted Metal 2. I actually may have played it more. It was awesome seeing the new release of Twisted Metal on PS3 and it would be just as refreshing to see a Vigilante 8 reboot. The only downside ? I don't think the game would have a very good following.
Syphon Filter - I absolutely loved those games on the PS1. I was a little kid so they were tough as hell for me to play, but it didn't stop me from trying. The action shooter genre needs some new blood and a reboot of this classic would be a good place to start
Spyro/Gex/Croc - Everyone's favorite cartoon dragon, lizard, and crocodile.. right ? These arcade classics will always come to mind when I think about some of my favorite games as a kid.
Jet Moto - This one is sort of a crapshoot. I don't think it would have a realistic chance of selling many copeis, but it's worth a thought.
I also think we need some sort of new Supercross game. There were some awesome games back in the PS1 days and when I look around now, there aen't many decent options for a Supercross or ATV game.
I may seem like I'm rambling, but it's a slow day at work and I'm bored.. thought I would try to strike up a discussion.
