    Re: Batman: Arkham Origins

A little interesting that that must clearly be Dick Grayson as Robin, but he has Tim Drake's staff. Shouldn't he be using those sweet escrima sticks? Or did they just not wanna mix and match models and move sets?

I mean Tim Drake is the staff guy, Grayson is the baton guy. Whatever. Looks like fun. And having it be 3vs3vs2 means the guys with guns can't just look up at grapple points the whole time.

I'm downloading the open beta as we speak. I'll let you know how it is after it finishes up.

Only if you received a code which is why it should be labeled closed beta or limited open beta.

That figure looks great, but ~$120? Ugh.

$120 is too much, but damn if I don't really want it just for that badass figure.

They sent it to those with a warner Bros account. Sadly its too late as I didn't know either.

                    Re: Batman: Arkham Origins

Alright, I can finally get on! The boards have been down for me all day.

The only thing playable is online. Teams are split into two. Jokers Gang and Bane's gang. Its the prototypical 4 on 4 team deathmatch but its very similar to how the Last of US online play is. You get 25 respawns, at the end, whoever runs out of re-spawns is the loser. The fun thing is the 2 wild cards. Outside of those teams, 1 player controls Batman, and 1 controls Robin. They are not on any teams, and you just go around, watching from the top or crawling around the sewers and randomly can take people out.

When there is a disadvantage (overwhelming), one player can control their boss (Joker or Bane). There will be an alert that your boss wants in and a location to get him. First player who reaches the location and lets the boss in can control him (I've never been able to control a boss yet so I can't comment on how they play. I assume they are stronger and can take more damage).

On the gameplay, I know its a beta but the controls (to me) were clunky and took a while to get used to. It is also way to easy to shoot at people. It seems like the guns are on auto aim.

There is an option to customize your character from the clothes he wears, to face paint, to his build and body parts for each team.

I also unlocked a new batman skin just for playing but I forgot which one.

I can see this mode being fun if they make the aiming harder and fix the controls a little bit.

I have played as Joker and Bane. Bane is really powerful I got like 4 kills with him pretty quick one round. I ended up with 9 kills total using Bane. When I was the Joker I got 2 kills and then died. I think Bane was a little too overwhelming, but it was awesome just running around grabbing people by the neck and tossing them across the room. I played with Batman twice & it was pretty cool. The 2nd time I was him I got about 5 kills. You have to be very strategic when you play as Bats or Robin because most of the teams stay in groups. You have to try and get one maybe two people at a time. When I roll up on a group of 3 I always die.

Arkham Origins needs a Mission Select of some kind.
