Warner Bros. Games Montreal has taken the mantle of the bat from Rocksteady Studios this time around for Batman: Arkham Origins. WB Montreal has full access to Rocksteady's custom modified Unreal engine to capture the look and feel of the Arkhamverse. As the title suggests, the game takes place years before both of the previous Arkham titles when a young, unrefined Batman encounters many supervillains for the first time. On our full cover image below, fans will recognize the assassin Deathstroke, who appears for the very first time in a core Arkham game.
Heading up the vision for Arkham Origins is creative director Eric Holmes, known for being the lead designer of open world action hits The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Prototype. A self-professed lover of comics, Holmes even wrote the miniseries Transformers: Megatron Origin for IDW.
Gamers won't have to wait long to experience Batman's lastest adventure. Batman: Arkham Origins releases October 25, 2013 on Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

idk what to think of this. I'm excited but I'm also a lil worried about Rocksteady. Are they still going to make the sequel to Arkham City or is it all on this new company?

If this is JUST another company taking on the reins for a new Arkham game I'm fine with that. Could be fun and I'm sure it'll be worth the money especially since they have the rights to Rocksteady's engine.

I'm sorry but it worries me a lot that Rocksteady is not doing the game! The last two were just to amazing for Rocksteady not to do the 3rd. It really breaks my heart

I think the only reason they aren't doing this one is because they're working on a next-gen Batman right now.

Obviously there is a little doubt that these guys can live up to what Rocksteady has done, but even if they can't, we've already gotten two incredible Batman games, so anything else is already more than I could ask for at this point.

The setting for this new game has me really intrigued. Christmas Eve on the actual streets of Gotham sounds awesome. Instantly makes me think of Batman Returns as well.

Gotham City on Christmas Eve sounds cool. The atmosphere should be engaging. I'm not a comic book guy so leaving Arkham doesn't bother me one bit. Was starting to grow tired of the place to be honest.

Grand Theft Auto V and now a new Batman game being released on back to back months sounds good to be.

THIS. The one positive thing that the terrible, terrible Batman and Robin movie tie in game got right is the idea of being able to drive the Batmobile or Robin's motorcycle whenever you wanted around Gotham and even going back to the Batcave where you could use the Batcomputer at will to piece together clues to crimes. If they can take an idea like that and remove all the suck that that game covered it in that would be great.

Hey, if all they did was to keep the gameplay exactly the same and drop Batman into an open-world Gotham City and nothing else I will be happy.

I'm thinking the same thing Tendril. All this team has go do is ADD more.

Just give me more combat maneuvers, more gadgets, and let us vehicles. Honestly they don't have to innovate or reinvent the wheel here.

Give me those things and I'll be a happy camper. Gladly throw my 60$ at it.

Agreed, but the ideal scenario is giving us a giant open-world Gotham and a Batmobile to get around it. I'm flexible enough to take what they give us and not be the slight bit upset about it, but if I can get some Batmobile or Batcycle driving or (really reaching for the stars here) a Batwing flight in this thing too, I may buy three copies just out of sheer excitement.

Yeah, don't break anything, but add enough to make the story fun and some new gameplay elements.

It's like Black Ops vs. main COD...they add stuff, but the big updates don't happen every year (it's not possible). Like Assassin's Creed...you get a new game, but it can't be revolutionary every year.
