Series/Game to try for 360?

I just purchased a 360 about a week ago and I'm looking for some info on a series or game that is a must play type...

If you like racing, then id definitely recommend Forza 4 and Forza Horizon

and the Mass Effect series is classic

Racing games: Forza 2,3,4....F1series, NFS shift series

Action Adventure: Saints Row series
Assassins Creed series
Mass Effect Trilogy

Shooters: Battlefield series, and Call of Duty, Gears of War series (must have)

Gears of War and Forza are the reasons I even own a 360. I'd throw Halo and Alan Wake in there as well.

Live also has some great downloadable games (just started playing Mark of the Ninja which is great).

A lot of great 3rd party titles being listed as well, unless you already owned a ps3?

Got my 360 for Gears, keep it for Forza.

And I usually get MP shooters on my 360, much more active (plus BF3 caused my PS3 to $^&* itself).

Red Dead Redemption is a great western. Should be cheap now with all the DLC.

Well with Halo 4 coming out soon you could try Halo Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Reach.

Gears of Wars is a great exclusive that you can get very cgeap these days. Like Candyman said everyone has to play a Halo game if you own a Xbox. I don't "love" halo but it has been a fun playthough. I saw Halo 2 at Best Buy the other day and thought about grabbing it for myself since its the on I never played.
So for you guys that have played Halo 2 does it hold up pretty good on the 360 or will it make my eyes hurt since its such a old game?

I would just recommend Reach for Halo or wait for 4. If you like either, then maybe go back and check out the others.

So for you guys that have played Halo 2 does it hold up pretty good on the 360 or will it make my eyes hurt since its such a old game?

I would stay away. I didn't remember the campaign being that bad during its time, but watching it during Giant Bomb's Extra Life Charity stream really opened up my eyes; the second half looked like a huge slog and I would say the cliffhanger ending is the least of its problems.
