    video game suggestions

so i have about 60 dollars left on my gaming budget this year.probably not gonna spend anything else after this until gta v comes out just incase the economy gets worse so i still have enough money for it.any one have suggestions, i'll take a couple cheaper games as well, dont be afraid to post a couple games that equal 70-80, i might be able to add to my budget on black friday. i'm already getting AC3 and AC2 and last person alive who is going to buy skyrim after all this time. i'm not interested in any fps since i've been disappointed the past couple years. on my mind is the new nascar game even though i'm not a nascar fan and possibly nba2k13. problem is again, not a nascar fan, and all i'm missing with 2k12 are some new features like gm sit downs which seem broken now.

    What console ?

I'll outline a few solid games.

    - Dragon Age: Origins. [360 & PS3]

It's about $8.00 and still a great RPG.

    - L.A. Noire [360 & PS3]

It's about $20.00 and it's a lot of fun. There's not a whole lot of shooting involved, but it's a fun game that tests your wits.

-Mass Effect [360, coming soon to PS3]

I'm sure you can find the first game for $20.00 or less and begin the series of three games. It's a really fun RPG and possibly one of the best stories of any game to date.

    - Gran Turismo 5 [PS3]

With the recent price drop, this game can be purchased for $20.00 or less, brand new. With online racing modes and perks and a laundry list of vehicles, that's a steal for a great racing game. It's beautiful and has a variety of race types, including Nascar and Formula 1

    - Heavy Rain [PS3]

If you want a game, where your decisions truly affect the outcome of the game, pick this game up. If you own a Playstation 3 and never play this game, you really shouldn't call yourself a gamer. It's a fantastic game and I'm sure you can find it for $20.00 or less with some DLC

    - Batman Arkham Asylum [360 & PS3]

This is the first of a two part series (thus far) and you can buy it for under $20.00. It's one of the best super hero games out there, with plenty of collectibles and fun to be had.

thanks i've been considering mass effect. xbox 360 btw. how long does mass effect and arkham asylum take to beat.any notable things in mass effect, kind of like how there is hunting in red dead redemption, is there anything in mass affect and batman that will make you go a full week without doing a storyline mission?also does anyone know if the vc system in nba 2k13 is broken ( easier , tougher, impossible?)anyone play nascar and enjoys it without being a real life nascar fan? most likely though, i'll get the 3 game mass effect collection or the first one and batman.

I can't remember how long it took for Arkham Asylum, but it wasn't overwhelmingly long. There are little collectibles along the way with it, but nothing that's going to get you too far from the main story. Most can be found along with way and with just a little exploring.

Mass Effect has some side missions and favors you do for various people throughout the universe, but again, it's nothing overwhelming. Most of it blends it pretty well with the main story. I can't remember the exact time, but I invested over 30 hours each for all three games in the series. It's worth the time, though. You can search Mass Effect in the non sports section here and see all the positive reviews. I liked the games so much that I started reading the books and they are good.

There are side missions you have to complete before you finish the game and some that can be completed afterwards, along with a lot of DLC.

If you don't play Mass Effect at some point, you're not a gamer. It's phenominal.

If you're thinking about Mass Effect, just pick up the trilogy - it will be well worth $60 (for all three games!)

Sleeping Dogs was a pretty great game as well - it's a little short, but it was a great open world game with excellent melee combat and driving.

I like the VC system in 2k13. I play a ton of rank matches in 2k13 & its nice to earn vc for my My Player without having to play the mode all day.... You earn vc in every mode that can b used in My Career

                  Re: video game suggestions

                  I recommend:

                  Just Cause 2:
It's an over-the-top take on the GTA gameplay. Look it up on youtube. You have a parachute, grappling hook and can do the craziest things - a game I lvoe to play when I dont know what to play.

                  L.A. Noire:
Game is absolutely amazing in my opinion. The facial expressions add so much to the realism and immersion. Great voice-acting, superb action scenes and a very life-like 40's/50's atmosphere.

                  Kane & Lynch:
I recommend this game because you can probably find it and it's sequel for about 10-15 dollars total. I havent actually played the second one, but just about done the first game. I picked them up because for quite some time it seemed like I was *always* seeing them in the bargain bin. I read some reviews, watched some video footage and I have to say, I actually like the first game quite a bit. Not the greatest controls, but a decent crime story line and some alright action.

                    Re: video game suggestions

These are the only games I own that I feel everyone needs to at least play once.

                    Dark Souls ($20 on Amazon) &/or Demon's Souls (<$20)

These are two of my favorite games on this gen of consoles. Hardcore RPGs focused on their amazing combat system, that are very hard and unforgiving at times but quite rewarding when you are finally able to get past a boss. I recommend Dark Souls because it is open-world and also because the Demon's Souls online servers are now off. Basically will take anywhere from 50-100 hours or more on your first playthrough to complete.

                    Batman Arkham City ($25)

I recommend this over Arkham Asylum, because I believe it is a better game. There are side missions, more characters, the combat system is slightly improved, and you get to fly around the city. Don't worry about getting the GOTY edition, as the DLC isn't that good and not really worth the extra money.

That said, both are amazing games and I'd get both if you haven't played either.

                    Mass Effect Series

As mentioned above, these are some awesome games.

alright, thanks guys.i'll wait for black friday and see if i can fit in the mass effect trilogy with arkham asylum or arkham city, my only concern about the arkham games is they are going to make the combat in AC look like a joke.
i tried not touching anything when i was younger and ended up pissing all over myself.

The Mass Effect Trilogy doesn't come out till December, but you should definitely wait till then.

Don't worry about the combat comparisons, both series are very enjoyable.

Batman will take you a shorter amount of time though, since it isn't as open as the AC games. Still, you will enjoy and get your money's worth!

You don't necessarily need 2k13 if you haven't gotten it by now anyways.

there is also a chance i just get nascar inside line.getting skyrim, so i'm hoping it'll live up to the 300 ours of fun some people have invested in to it to keep me entertained until my budget is increased.

Take it slow with Skyrim, as it starts of slow (like AC3). Once you get into it, the game gets so much better.

People have invested hundreds of hours in the Mass Effect games too, so that could be your fix eventually.
