i trust skyrim enough to know there will be a heavenly light at the end of the tunnel if there is ever any boring stretch.
i tried not touching anything when i was younger and ended up pissing all over myself.

      Skyrim is quite amazing.

Also check out the fallout games a look if you've never played them.

The Mass Effect series is pretty solid, but just wait till the trilogy comes out in Dec.
Dragon Age: Origins complete edition is amazing. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time.
I know you said 360, but Guild Wars 2 is having a free trial Nov 15-19 if you know anyone that has the game.
I can't even get online w/ my ps3 because of my terrible net service, but GW2 has no lag what so ever.

Get New Vegas, Dark Souls and Dragon Age Origins instead of Skyrim, Mass Effect and Assassins Creed.

I would also advise about getting on Dragon Age: Origins. I put 100 hours into that game and for a single player game (and my ADHD when it comes to different games) is a testament to its awesomeness.

Finish that and then get on the Mass Effect Trilogy and you are good to go.

Dark souls isn't really for everyone... Read some reviews on these games before purchasing.

                  Re: video game suggestions

Not trying to steal the OP's thunder or thread but I didn't want to start another one. I've read this thread but still kind of want more suggestions for myself.

I've been a Mass Effect guy as that's become my favorite game (all I play is sports games) and I just got ME3 back from letting a friend borrowing it, and I recently just started the entire series over as I'm currently playing ME1. Mass Effect sparked my interest in RPG's and have asked friends for advice on what to get but I don't have any gaming friends like that to where they recommend really really good games. I like games with a great story and take quite some time to beat, basically anything like Mass Effect.

I have Batman AA and Batman AC as I just beat those both about maybe 2 months ago, obviously I have the entire Mass Effect series, I recently beat LA Noire, and I was curious about Skyrim and looking for more feedback on that game, I tried Red Dead Redemption but I don't know if it started off slow, or whether I was playing on a screen where I couldn't really see anything clearly.

I wanted to get Assassins Creed III but with all games that generally have a story I usually start with the first one and didn't know if I would need to start with the first one. Long story short, I'm looking to find some very good story RPG games or basically really any great games, I also heard Dead Space was good. Any extra suggestions aside from those that are already mentioned in the thread would be greatly appreciated.

red dead redemption is my favorite game, and in my opinion the best rockstar game there is.story takes a while because you find your self spending a couple weeks hunting and doing bounty missions.i dont know if skyrim is for everyone, mages become overpowered somewhat quickly, being a close combat warrior or whatever they call it in there can get a little repetitive as well.i havent played the game yet so i cant confirm this.i hear mage/warrior combination is fun.i'm surprised how many people can replay it with a different character and have the same enjoyment since it has alot of stuff to do with adventuring and discovering things, so people enjoying it the same or even more on a second playthrough speaks for itself. i dont mind you using the thread since i've pretty much made my decision now.

                      Re: video game suggestions

RDR does take a while but the story is overly dumb and predictable.

Dead Space? Also dumb and predictable and doesn't take long at all.

AC III,yes you'd have to play through the others first.

Spec Ops: The Line has by far the best story of any recent game but it's short. It doest have replay value to make different choices and there's essentially 3 endings but you're still not going to get to RPG levels of long.

Catherine has a very good story and takes a long time. It's more of a puzzle game and it's also quite replayable with 7 endings.

Mass Effect isn't a tradtional RPG so it's hard to suggest one. I never got around to finishing Lost Odyssey but that certainly has a fantastic story from what I played.

The Witcher and its sequel have good stories and are very long, also with good replay value.

You might like Beyond Good & Evil HD.

KoA Reckoning is huge and also more of an action RPG.

http://www.gog.com/catalogue You can pick any of the top RPGs there.

Dig up Chrono Trigger if you can.

it wasnt unpredictable, but i loved the writing for RDR. its a pretty good story, and gameplay is alot more important in rdr and the gameplay is amazing, i loved using dead eye to put 20 bullets in a guy that pissed me off.

I'm a huge Assassin's Creed fan, and no, you don't have to start with the first one, but the story is sooo good, that if Story is truly important to you, I'd suggest starting with it just so you could fully appreciate what they've done. If you do however, you do have a LOT of gameplay in store for you, but if you stick with the main missions, you should be able to knock it out fairly quickly.

Good story that I enjoyed is Bioshock (1st one). Darksiders 1 & 2 were pleasant surprises as well. There's always the Dragon Age series (quality games) if you want a more core RPG game. Witcher 2 Assassin of Kings, and Dragons Dogma are a couple of newer / good games to check out as well.
