i'm not talking about an actually scary game, i'm talking about that mini heart attack when you want to do a stunt jump in gta and the bike is on the edge and its about to fall down after you spent 5 minutes trying to get it on.

i'm nominating red dead redemption: you put some bait down, its been a few seconds, no animal shows up... you finally figure out what it is, but its too late to do anything about it....... cougar'd.
honorable mention: madden nfl 13, you get subbed out in a last minute situation because your in field goal range and only down by 1.... then you remember how horrible the AI time management is.

Playing The Show online as the Yanks loosing against the Dodgers 4-1 and its the 9th inning.

Got bases fully loaded and 2 outs, in comes A-ROD and my heart is beating so fast I'm feeling a heart attack! Controller vibrates, 1st throw is a ball. The 2nd is a home run, electrifying moment!

I unfortunately do not think any game can beat the scare factor you can get from sports gaming.

Playing Heavy Rain. Can't isolate one moment. There were so many times in that game that had me so freaked out that I needed to take frequent breaks away from it.

pretty much any football game: 10 seconds left, you throw a deep pass, its caught, your running but from the looks of it you wont make it to the end zone and you make the decisions to dive out of bounds before getting tackled inbounds, and you see 1 second on the clock... but usually you dont make it and time runs out...

Walking around the WW2 area in The Darkness, turning around and seeing a dead soldier appear right in front of you. That **** was terrifying.

The first FEAR game.
That was the first game I played with my Turtle Beach X3 (I think( headset. Of course, at night, no lights.

Those creatures in Fallout: New Vegas, Dead Money.

Walking around in the subway system for the first time in Fallout 3.

Dead Space with a surround sound system, walking in a dark room with nothing but my flashlight and out of no where I hear my teammate screaming loud, I turn around, can't find him, turn back around and a giant spider like creature drops from the ceiling attacking me. I was like oh crap they have stuff walking on the ceilings ? In the freaking dark ? Never played that game again.

Left for Dead has given me some scary moments, and I honestly shudder when I hear the shriek of that damn banshee in ME3 lol.

first week after that i had mirrors set around my shower so i can check whats behind me without turning around... ok maybe i exaggerated that a little bit, but still, that guy has issues.

Walking down a hallway waiting for a dog to jump through the window in the original RE. Didnt matter if you knew it was coming that could make your butt crack a walnut.

You knew it was going to happen if you were in the water long enough, but it always got your heart racing.

The first time (and pretty much every time after) a Big Daddy started coming after me.
Also I believe it was the 1st Tomb Raider (maybe not though but it was an early TR) these statues started coming after you after you hit a switch to go down some stairs. They were a ways away from you but you heard the "clank clank clank!" And it would get louder and louder until they got you. Eventually I escaped but EVERY time my heart pounded.

The first Dead Space. Pretty much peed myself the entire game. Excellent horror game.

Doom 3 did it for me, played the game for about 30 minutes returned it the next day. Dead Space and Resi Evil games also get the heart racing. Honorable mention to Dino Crisis and Silent Hill.
