I have done quite a few of them and was getting rare engrams, but never got anything better than that. Figured it was rares only as it is level 24 max. How often do you get legendaries or better?

And I finally finished that damn nightfall (solo), and what do I get for my troubles? 10 strange coins. EAT IT RNG

Edit - it gets better. My legendary vanguard package: 2 strange coins. I want to break this game.

Doesn't matter what level the strike is at,I have had 2 exotic drops from doing level 24 strikes.
I farm the Tiger strikes all the time,it does 2 additional things as well...

1-gets your Vanguard level up,and at level 3 you get a legendary weapon...also it levels your vanguard marks up so you can buy Vanguard weapons from the vendor.

2-Strikes also help get engrams,obviously this is for the cryptarch...which Rares (blues) also have the possibitlity to give you legendary weapons as well.

The name of the game is farm,farm and when you think you're set...keep on a farming.

The way everyone gets through these nightfall strikes, I just can't imagine it's the way Bungie intended. It's essentially cheese the way you kill the Wizards, stand behind rocks and take pot shots until they die yet I don't know how anyone could beat them without that strategy. I can just imagine Bungie patching this game where it's just impossible to win on the nightfall or hard raids.

They way they intended would require me to get gear to level up. However, they have made it essentially impossible for me to get said gear, so I have no issue taking "pot shots".

Honestly, they only reason I believe they are dragging out the gear drops is to extend people's interest until the DLC drops.

if you have a good Arc rocket launcher, it'll wipe out the wizards in the nightfall.
I got lucky and the wizards charge together at once, shot 1 rocket, all 4 died instantly. sadly, I died at Phogoth from a Thrall melee. lol didn't feel like trying again yet.

I have a fully upgraded Steel Oracle Z-11, with cluster bomb and kills for faster reload speed perks, with Arc damage. It has max reload and max Blast Radius.

To expand on that a bit, I'd actually rather get blue engrams from the strike then already decrypted engrams. Besides the chance it has to turn legendary when decrypted, it also levels up the cryptarch and then you receive a package in the mail that can give up to 3 legendary engrams.

I'm thinking that after a certain point, leveling the cryptarch doesn't give legendaries anymore. I've leveled him a lot lately, and if I had to guess, it's been all blues as a reward for like the last 10 levels.

Finally running the raid tomorrow morning with 5 buddies from work. Hopefully they all show up. I haven't been able to run it with you guys yet despite being nearly a 29 warlock.

Once I get some legendary and/or exotic weapons I will be able to run the the raid on hard.

Been stuck with blues forever (currently level 27). My only legendary gun is the Unfriendly Giant.

You have never had a purple legendary weapon? That is incredibly rare I would think for a 27...... or you have the worst luck ever man, lol

Frustrated with the lack of strange coins. The weekly brought my total to 10, and despite decrypting a lot of blues, I've yet to get another.

Knowing my luck, Xur will be selling Heart of the Praxic Fire and I won't be able to get it.

I have a checkpoint at Atheon if anyone wants to setup a raid. I have no idea what to do at the end there. This was my first raid run-through and pretty much had to learn trial-by-fire. So five spots and all we have to do is kill the last guy.

I would do it on hard if possible; we were going through on normal so I don't know if I can actually change the difficulty level at this point or if I just need to finish on normal now.

Second Edit: Anyone know if Praedyth's Revenge is any good or worth leveling? The last thing I really wanted was another legendary sniper, but I guess it's something.

Thanks, we'll see if we can get 4 others to join tonight. If not it will just have to wait until tomorrow or later on the weekend.
