Re: Destiny
That's how it was with us. We had one guy jump down with the relic and the other 5 stay up top to snipe oracles and the templar. Except that one guy refused to listen and would stand in the front of the ledge you jump down from and repeatedly get sniped or take splash damage from the templar and die. It was frustrating as hell.
We eventually got it once we realized the person with the relic could one hit the back left oracle with the shield. Before, I was perched on the far far right ledge to hit that oracle with the Icebreaker, and I pretty much had to just stay there incase that oracle popped up. After we found out he could take him out with the shield, I could actually move around and hit the templar. Except for the one time I shot a rocket while detained and blew myself up

Re: Destiny
After I left the fireteam last night I looked on gamefaqs and found a video of what you're describing. If we would have done that it would have been easy. The relic holder that goes down is responsible for oracle in the back and others up top have to get the others. Then the relic holder can go up on the pillar on the left hand side and safely shoot the Templar and get his shields down. Rinse and repeat.. If we would have seen that we would have made some progress. That's how it was with us. We had one guy jump down with the relic and the other 5 stay up top to snipe oracles and the templar. Re: Destiny
If the relic holder is a 30 and is careful, he doesn't even need to get on the pillar. Our guy just ran around avoiding the templar's rockets. Another option is to have someone go down with him for added safety and to mainly guard against the back oracles with either a fire shotgun (Invective) or the Found Verdict. Then, the guys up top only have to worry about the oracles on the far right and left that are easy to hit. This way, they can focus on nailing the templar when his shields are down. After I left the fireteam last night I looked on gamefaqs and found a video of what you're describing. It sounds easy, but if you have one person die, it's hard to simultaneously take out oracles and kill the templar before he enrages. It still took five or six wipes to accomplish it.Comment

Re: Destiny
Did the normal raid last night - got the raid boots (had the iron banner boots) so that makes me 2/2 in terms of getting raid gear where I had iron banner gear.
Also got Aethon's Epilogue and Chatterwhite - again.

Re: Destiny
Man, I had a longer post typed up and the stupid browser crapped out and it was lost. To sum up, I like a couple of the guys we played with last night, but I just don't know if they are good enough or just don't get the templar fight. Too much time wasted, too many quick deaths, too many people designated to shoot one oracle.
Also I'll be on I'm sure.Last edited by Burns11; 12-06-2014, 01:19 PM.Comment

Re: Destiny
Ran the Hard raid with nightmare booster starting with the Oracles, kind of a pain in the A. We did beat it but all I got was Ascendent material, A cape, and another raid sparrow.
What a waste of 2 hours.
My main character really gets shafted, my alt gets much better drops at a higher frequency.

My usual group of guys can get through the hard raid in a pretty short period of time if somebody wants to tag along on Tuesday or Wednesday.Comment

Re: Destiny
Is the VoG going stay up as is come Tuesday?
I know they limit our raid loot now and wasn't sure how that would work with two raids.Comment

Re: Destiny
What would be a good hard raid weapon set? My max primaries are Suros and Epilogue.
Secondaries are: Chosen (sniper), Purifier VII void fusion and Light/Beware solar fusion.
No max heavies. As high of a 29 as you can get without full raid gear.
Looking to start doing hard mode runs but I've only done the normal one 3 times. That said I am pretty good with the relic of that mattersComment

Re: Destiny
Suros is probably better than Epilogue for the bulk of the raid. VOC is my weapon of choice; Epilogue just doesn't seem to do enough damage. If you're having to shoot the oracles, though, you can use the Epilogue with confidence. What would be a good hard raid weapon set? My max primaries are Suros and Epilogue.

For your secondaries, I honestly don't know any of those in terms of raid prowess. A sniper rifle is probably more useful overall.
Do you have Praedyth's Revenge, Corrective Measure, or Hezen Vengeance? Maxing any of those would be a good starting point. Icebreaker and Gjallarhorn are obviously the best two weapons, but if you don't have them or any of the above, you'll do well to at least max something else legendary in the heavy category.Comment

Re: Destiny
Yeah it will be up still. Should make it interesting having to do two different raids each week. Unfortunately in terms of loot, the Vault is pretty much worthless now. I'd still like to get the Hard Mode drops myself, but they won't help with the new raid or other newer end-game content. Also sadly, you can't get any (primary) weapons in the new raid yet - hard mode only in January.
I'm hoping to just jump into the new raid on Tuesday and feel it out like I did with the Vault. Will still be running the hard mode Vault, though, if anyone needs to group up.Comment

My heavies that can be upgraded are Swarm, Unfriendly Giant and Truth.Comment

Re: Destiny
The vog will stay up, supposed to add a higher difficulty eventually (or maybe that was a baseless rumor, hard to remember which). The raid limits will be separate, and since the raid stuff from the vog isn't getting a buff the gear will be of separate tiers.
For the atheon fight I never liked suros, it didn't take the oracles down as fast as atheons epilogue, though suros is probably better for the other parts. What would be a good hard raid weapon set? My max primaries are Suros and Epilogue.

Secondary you will probably use both the void fusion and the sniper, fusion during confluxes and gatekeeper (times when you fight minotaurs / praetorians), sniper for other parts.
Heavy use the highest leveled one you have, I find I prefer lmg most of the time, rockets are harder to use because of the detain bubbles and other players moving in my line of sight. Corrective measure is a beast especially in the raid.Comment
