Only got past the first check point, but pulled in No Land Beyond (from first chest) and raid gloves (first checkpoint).

I think the boss isn't too hard, it's getting there without getting impatient and running out and getting cut down by a wizard or a bunch of shanks or something. Wizards are the worst, they can just spam fast moving instadeath wherever.

I don't really have a problem w/ the DLC, just expected it to be more appealing to me is all when it released vs all the other games I've got now. As a result I'll take the $25+ in trade and perhaps I'll pick it up again after the next expansion releases or will be back for Destiny 2.

I have a problem with things no one should view as acceptable. Doing stuff like making the nightfall and weekly heroic DLC exclusive on the weeks when its on certain strikes without having an alternate option for non-dlc players. How about taking the ability to earn engrams in strikes away from non-dlc players? Thats clearly a move designed to push you towards buying the DLC.

Making anti-consumer deals like restricting certain strikes to one platform while still charging the same price on another(especially when you take into account how content light the game is already)? Sorry, I'm just not down with that.

Enjoy the DLC to whoever bought it, I'm sure its just fine. But the reason consumers keep getting shafted is people keep buying stuff while the content provider spits in your face.

The message Bungie sent everyone today is buy the DLC or stop playing the game, because we just don't care about you.

For normal mode, 27 at least. 28 is the ideal level, but 27 can work if you have decent help. 29 okay for hard mode, 30 ideal.

Does that first chest count as a checkpoint? If you get the chest and leave - could you come back later with a group who is doing the raid?

Yes and no.

I do not think it is a checkpoint per se, although getting the chest will cause you to start in the abyss opposed to the Moon and the chest will not be available after you get it for the week.

It's worth hoping down there, even if you do not want to do the raid yet, I personally got the new exotic primary sniper and know Burns got Dragon's Breath.

Depends on what you want to do. My uninterrupted (i.e. without kids) time is usually from 8 PM to midnight or one. I may hop on earlier than that, but that is the time I usually run group activities.

I can do the heroic whenever. To do the nightfall again, I have to get my alt through some of the Eris stuff. I am also at the first checkpoint in the raid and can look to pick that back up. The only part we got past is running through the opening, which once you figure it out, is pretty simple.

So me, Nyydus, Andy, Pito, Shaz, and Sykotic tried the raid late last night. Me Nyydus and Andy were up at 4 AM EST to play the DLC, so I was dead tired already and I'm sure they were too. We get to the first part and it was insane. (Minor raid spoilers)

Thralls everywhere, endless supers and grenades, running for our lives, falling into holes, just MADNESS. Now, I hadn't watched any videos on how to do this part. I somehow stumbled upon the chest that granted two exotics to our group, AND I lead our team to the end--all blindly. It felt awesome. We wiped that time, as there were two ogres, a knight, and endless thralls INSIDE OUR TITAN BUBBLE THAT WAS ON FIRE THANKS TO PITO.

We got to the next part and that's where we stopped, partly because I had to go and get some sleep, but also because we were confused. ****ing Swordbearers and Gatekeepers. This **** is fun as hell. Can't wait to get back at it.

How is that primary sniper looking? I'm not quite sure I get that one, Not sure I can think of time when I can completely give up my primary. I'm assuming the scope is more like a regular sniper and not like a slow high impact scout rifle.

Sounds like you got to the point we were at. After playing for awhile last night, I think I get the concept and what needs done for the bridge/gatekeeper part.
