How is that primary sniper looking? I'm not quite sure I get that one, Not sure I can think of time when I can completely give up my primary. I'm assuming the scope is more like a regular sniper and not like a slow high impact scout rifle.

My initial thoughts were that it is fun, but I am not sure of the practical use in the game.

As with most exotics, you need to unlock the unique perks to really understand the weapon. There is a multiplier for multiple precision shots. I am curious as to how significant it is, because I was doing good damage out of the gate. That could be the key to gun.

And the gun is as tall as my character.

So I'd hit Crucible Rank 5 last night. Not only did I get the now precious Commendation, but I also got B-Line Trauma (scout rifle). Which looks to be an exact upgrade to my Cryptic Dragon. The beauty is its a 19 clip mag, which was the main reason I love my CD. On top if that it's a drop so the perks should be different/better than that of the vendors variety.

That really pumped me up, I must say. Getting that without having to spend the marks

Loved the new strike. Awesome getting a new challenge after weeks of the same ol strikes. Ended up getting patience and time (which I already had) but it was of course upgraded and ultimately yielded an exotic shard.

My buddy got no land beyond. I'm dripping with jealousy.

That's what this game's all about "keeping up with the Jones'". Jealousy, envy, I want what he has so bad gotta keep grinding lol.

It definitely plays up to the player base with the required mindset.

I don't mind it at all, so long as the 'grind' is fun & progressive, when it feels like work then it's time to stop.

With the opening content I was "go hard" the entire time, got 2 chars to 30 and 1 to 28 with a quickness. Got the Vex and a few other nice weapons.

This go round with TDB I'm just gonna play leisurely, whatever comes my way via drops will be a surprising bonus. Not gonna rush each week to knock out nightfalls, weeklies, raids. I'll do them whenever convenient.

That approach may keep this game getting tray time with me as opposed to ditching it. I know it's the dangling carrot, but I don't want to think of it that way.

That all being said, good luck to all OSers with the new content and may you receive all the "phat loots"!

we tried out the new raid with 4 Warlocks 2 hunters(all level 30s). got to a point where we decided it would be better to try and get a few people to level 31 before continue. about 3 of us were already close to it.

I somehow made it to the VOG glass part where you have to get the two relics from the portal with a team of randoms who had never ran BOG before. Also a couple of the guys didn't speak english as their native tongue. Does that mean if I do the raid I have that as a checkpoint? If so, does anyone experienced want to run me through the rest?

I'll be 31 before the end of the week, need another commendation. I kind of want to wait and see what xur has first though.

After last night, I really think 31 is going to help with the normal raid.

Where I was wasn't bad, but obviously the other side is something else, lol. Only time I had trouble was when something (something big, or a bunch of smaller things) came from the middle. Fatebringer was killing it against the thralls. I agree though, need to be 31 (seems the level of the raid is actually 31)

I realize I may have to buy a helmet + gauntlets to hit 31. Although that also depends on what Xur has for sale and trade-in. I got the new gauntlets last night, but there's no way to get enough "raid" shards unless you just roll through it all at level 30. This also made me think if you only have 1 character doing the new raid, you won't be able to hit 32 for a long time.

Assuming you could get 10 shards each raid (not sure if that's a high or low estimate), that's still 7 weeks before you have enough shards to be 32. Talk about stretching out this content...

I definitely love the Arc/Solar fusion rifle you get on the Dark Below quests. My friend and I took the time and leveled it (thanks to the fusion rifle telemetry you get) and it was eating up things in the weekly.


The nightfall is madness. Pure madness...

so is the Raid.

I got boots, gauntlets and chest from the vanguard yesterday so I'm in process of leveling those up. Of course, I don't want to spend my glimmer until after Friday when I see if Xur has any of my exotics up for an upgrade. Considering my Suros felt like a pea shooter during the level 30 story missions, I could go for some new, better weapons.

I did get two purple heavies in my Cryptarch package which turned out to be a void damage Against All Odds and arc damage rocket launcher Valedictorian 9-44. I sadly broke down my The Swarm last night - at least the *** energies will be useful.

The adds were not bad. The Swords and higher level enemies were just sucking up bullets. For a frame of reference, I hit a sword with 4 or 5 maxed Gally shots and he still didn't go down.

I like fusion rife, but the charge time is significant.

That's a lot if gjallarhorn, must have been some serious lag. I didn't find them quite that bad, also found that circle strafing them was fairly effective. Their sword smash is all straight line, seems to be able to track moving at right angles, but circling seems to throw off their aim.
