Pretty sure this is done on purpose. Kind of the way you had to be "more than a casual player" (my reference to "hardcore") to Raid and take advantage of raid gear.

Bungie added Trials, and it's loot, to give an alternate to the best gear. In the past the only way to get the best gear was to raid. Not everyone had the time, team,skill or any combination of those to raid and hence get the best gear.

So Bungie purposefully did 2 things, change up the way you get good gear. But also, and maybe more importantly, gave PvP'ers a chance to play the game modes they prefer and get the gear everyone else got. A lot of people felt "penalized" because they didn't raid and played Crucible instead. This is Bungies way of catering to their entire audience.

That may be a tough sell around here, as we've proven most people on OS are way more into the single player /PvE aspects of most games. No bad thing, not a good, not a shot at anyone either.

For the record I did raid and had fun doing it, however my heart is and always will be with multiplayer. So naturally I'm glad they've added Trials and threw us PvP players a bone... Now I just need a few good men to kick some *** with.

I'm with u Gerg. I am happy for all the changes that they made for Crucible players and the trials was just ingenious.

I just want rewards to be more commiserate to the time effort. The trials gear arguably looks better than any set of gear in the game. 3 trials runs with a beast team on a different character and that is 1 heck of a haul! I saw a YouTube vid of a guy that ran trials with 3 characters and he had 7 Etheric light, sweet gear, an exotic emblem, 3 elemental primary's and 2 secondaries. This was in 1 weekend.

No shade at all Gerg. I'm happy for all of hardcore crucible players, but the rewards for time invested in Prison of Elders pales in comparison.

I hear ya... Have to think of it this way though... PvP vendor gear and the very occasional IB rewards paled in comparison to both VoG and Crota. I just think their making all facets of the game have a meaning.

Even now at least legendary drops are happening in Crucible. Think of all the "wasted time" in playing Crucible over and over. Especially if that's the mode you play the majority of the time.

Will do, I'll shoot you a friend request. I've got Comcast coming to the house tomorrow. About a week ago multiplayer games have been choppy for me which is a real PITA. All signals look good which is kind of oddbecause I've always had top notch Internet with no lag.

Anyway once I get I get that squared away I'm in. It was so bad last night I was hitting people with 3 golden gun shots and dying, and they lived.

I'm usually (not bragging) top 3 in crucible so if we get a good squad and communicate we should do ok

Completely agree with everything said here, unfortunately I missed you over the weekend and didn't get to run trials with you. This upcoming weekend for sure though

Yeah, I'm more than ok with Trials being as much of an endgame mode as the raids. PvP should be just as important in the long run.

And on the topic of keys. I also did not receive an exotic when I completed the 32 PoE this morning. Looks like it was just a first week thing. Oh well. I was just as happy getting the Titan chest piece. Still gotta complete it with my Warlock and Hunter, but man, it was a pain even with 3 Titans. The Arc burn Hive section was quite difficult.

I'm definitely not in as much of a rush to hit 34 as before now that RNG luck isn't tied into getting raid gear. I know I'll get there, so I'm just enjoying myself and having a blast.

Did the Nightfall with a friend this morning and got screwed with my reward. Got an exotic but the worst one in the game being the No Land Beyond. Tried it out and then dismantled it. Was finally able to get my Truth to 365 and I'm loving it. Can't wait to do Croat end and VoG hard this week. Hoping I get some good drops.

A little flustered I never got around to doing the 32 PoE with my Hunter last week. That's the only character I have with any gear below light 36, and it happens to be her gauntlets which Varriks sold last week for the armor core. Oh well, in due time I suppose.

Still need to run the level 32 PoE with my Warlock and Hunter this week at some point for the chest piece.

Soooo. I made it to the lighthouse after playing with 'randoms' going 0-3 1-3 and so on. I even played with some guys I normally play with and didn't get past 4 wins. Smh.

I added some guys from the fireteam site last night just for another run after going 0 - 1 with some other guys I play with a lot. I just didn't want to give up.

We started playing. Wiped a team out. In less than 30 seconds. Next match same way. Thought it was luck of the draw. But we KEPT winning. It was insane. We ended up going like 30-2 and we all had buffs for our losses. These guys went to the lighthouse 5 times with 5 different characters we were wrecking everything.

I didn't even have any coins for buffs so we had to win 9 straight with me as they switched out characters because they already had cards with a couple more wins to go.

My last match we were 8-0...I had no buffs. We were down 4-1.
We came back to tie it. I don't even remember how we did it. We just started playing a smarter, less agressive game. We moved to sniping and rushing the ghost to get the comeback. On the last round it was 2-1. As I go up for the revive against a titan(not a good move in close corners but I had alpha lupi) the guy fist of havocs me. Then my teammate throws a perfectly placed tripmine grenade. The titan runs thru the door for the kill and BOOM. Game over. We win. Incredible comeback. 9-0

Greatest PvP experience in a long time. It actually takes cohesiveness and skill. Not just run and gun and hope you kill something. I ended up getting another Monte Carlo, the exotic emblem, The Summoner Adept (void) 9 coins, 1 etheric light and some motes of light. The emblem makes it all worth it. It lets other players know your status which is what I've been asking for, for a long time lol...Most intense PvP experience ever.
