Who was really complaining about BH though? Who was complaining about IB? Its just Bungie forcing you to play their game the way they want you to play it. Hitting 3 shots with BH while only having 3 bullets in reserves is what made the gun good. Miss a shot, and youre screwed. Its not nearly as OP as people are pretending it was. Increasing IB bullet gen from 5 to 8 is just trolling from Bungie. They want you on their game for more hours than you are on it now. Plain and simple. They dont want you walking into Oryx's spaceship raid completely wrecking his bosses and him with BHs and Ghorns instantly. Its so obvious at this point why they are truly nerfing ALL GOOD YEAR ONE GUNS.

And a part of me gets it. Bungie cant have you completely wreck TTK in one weekend. Fair enough. I would just appreciate it is Bungie would not bull**** me and just say, we want to nerf the game so that you dont steamroll the new content with op guns we didnt forsee wrecking our game. Dont pretend to care about the LFG community when you still wont add matchmaking to you endgame content. At least then I could get a good laugh about it. But nerfing the IB gen time to "increase tension". Come on guys lol.

Yeah catch me with the too op for PVE crap. Everything on the AI side in PVE is OP. So instead of balancing PVE to compensate they artificially increase the difficulty. Oh Gjallarhorn was making things exclusive? Bull****. Half the events in this game can be done by a 5 year old. It's just a combination of bullet sponges and unlimited ads with amazing hit tracking that even makes things remotely difficult. I agree with kingkilla so freaking much. Outside of Black Hammer and Felwinters Lie (PVE and PVP respectively) what expansion weapons have found use? All the Exotics from The Dark Below and House of Wolves are pretty much trash and the vanilla exotics have been the ones with the most use. This is just Bungie realizing they made weapons that were so good they overshadowed everything so instead of trying to make more original and useful weapons they try to nerf everything to **** tier to compensate. Seriously when have you ever thought to yourself oh man I'm so glad I had Dregs Promise or Dragons Breath. Bungie you are so transparent.

Man, I was THIS close to jumping back in, albeit hesitantly. Now I read about these idiotic PvE nerfs (really, IB? Hardly anyone uses it anymore as it is) and I guess I'll wait for the dust to settle.

I just don't understand the thought process behind big PvE nerfs. "Let's make the grind even worse for everyone!"

Also, twenty bucks says Xur sells Gally again now.

I will double down on that Gally Kearnzo... Now that it's not OP let's sell it to everyone. I bet the Taken King will have a rocket launcher that is slightly better than Gally as well.

I'm pissed because I never had a chance to participate in the "OP" ness of it. :-(

I have so many feelings about this upcoming weapon balance. I like what they're doing to the Gally because they're right, the weapon has become a key to the LFG country club. The problem is that isn't the Gally's fault, but Bungie's. Bungie has made a game based around bosses that are bullet sponges that don't have interesting mechanics. If you can make a boss with an interesting mechanic (Atheon, Crota, Qudron from POE) and not just a sponge (T'urric, Nexus, Sexy Prime), you'll see less and less people care about Gally.

Bungie now ruined Black Hammer and Ice Breaker too. First, Black Hammer's perk rewarded people who could land precision kills with an instant ammo refill without touching the reserve. Now? Well now it is just a super instant reload because it pulls from your ammo reserve? What's the point? In fact, this nerf has basically given me and probably a lot of other no reason to ever run Crota normal ever again. The White Nail perk was something different that could have been used to slay bosses. Now it is virtually useless.

The ammo regeneration from 5 seconds to 8 seconds on Ice Breaker is a pain in the *** too. Why do this? Ice Breaker is relatively useless in PVP because it only regens ammo and a 5 second regen is a lot of time when you're clip is empty and you're worried about Guardians rushing you. To make the regen 8 seconds in PVE is pointless. Bungie is basically saying "stop using Ice Breaker and sniping your way out of situations". Ice Breaker's sole purpose was PVE and now that has taken a hit.

In the end, Bungie is doing two things:

1. Forcing you to play the game that they want you to play, not craft an experience that you want. Oh, you wanted to be the team sniper and clean up mobs around your pals with Ice Breaker? Too bad, get in there and dust off your pulse rifle!

2. To me, at least, it seems like they're watering down the current group of exotics so when TK rolls out in September, you'll start dismantling those weapons and use the new ones. With 'Year 2' starting in a couple of months, they're going to want you to use 'Year 2' weapons.

Bungie should change Destiny's tag line to 'Become Legend.....how we tell you to'.

Destroying BH into oblivion and literally making it useless compared to most other legendary snipers was so dumb. And the ICe Breaker nerf. WTF is up with that one. 8 second recharge? so we'll just hang back even longer for the ammo regen? ok. LMAO at Gjally nerfs. My friends loadout is FB, BH, and Gjally exclusively. He's screwed.


glad the handcannons got nerfed and the Hard Light/Necro changes sound awesome. plus i can bring my vanilla ascended Vanquisher VIII out the vault.

You don't have to wait for reset, and the quickest way to do those is play through the PoE until the boss, kill it, then wipe before going back to the airlock and kill it again. Repeat until done.

On the subject, stupidly you can't quit an elder cipher, BTW. If you get one but already have the weapon it will just go to variks if you try to delete.

Lol. Bungie is literally destroying their game. I've never seen anything like this. I was gonna pick up TTK but now I'm really thinking hard about it.

What was the Gjally nerf for? The only guns that really needed a nerf was the hand cannon. They even nerfed Hawkmoon so only 2 percs proc like that was even a big issue. It RARELY happened man. Thorn nerf was needed but man I just don't understand these developers. Ever. But to Nerf Black Hammer and have it use reserve ammo defeats the purpose of landing precision hits.

This is ridiculous.

I second this, some of you are just chomping at the bit to dump on Bungie. Some of the nerfs are a bit head scratching and I agree with Burns the most on the high end nerfs and buff the low end stuff a bit.

The only one that really bothers me is the IB nerf. I've always loved that gun and for not having it for so long at the beginning to finally getting it awhile ago, it was so satisfying. With the BH nerf, IB will definitely be more useful but I think the change from 5 to 8 second recharge is pretty silly. 5 seconds is already quite awhile

They'll probably change it, which means if you want the nighthawk, get it ASAP. If they change his inventory to add a weapon they could change the whole thing.

I still don't understand how Black Hammer is "useless". It still does high damage and has a higher capacity with no reload time. It's still the best sniper out there isn't it?

I also think that saying they shouldn't care about grouping unless they add matchmaking is silly. A LOT of people don't want matchmaking. I'm one of them. I hate it on the weekly. They do need to have some sort of in game group finder, but matchmaking is not the solution.
