Iron Banner is may favorite part of this game. I don't know what I hauled in because once I look at the perks if it is not to my liking I'll just dismantle the weapon. But I took two characters through the tourney and got 4 Etheric Light. The next Iron Banner I play to have my last character go through so that all three will be level 34 by the time Taken King drops. I will say this though, playing as Titan vs Hunter they did a good job of making them feel different.

When I roll with my Titan, I'm in constant press/blitz mode. I love this the most right now. Just straight up Menace. With my Hunter I notice I'm more clean up until I get the blade dancer.

Also, anybody got tips on how to get good with Hand Canon. I've seen some guys do really well with them, Ill Will; The Last Word; and of course Thorn (just overpowered). I have three Ill Will's; Timur's Lash; 3 Revelators' and I can't remember the other one, but I'm just not good with them. I wanted to use Ill Will with my Hunter but every match my kills were low. As soon as I switched to Salvation State; Red Death or any other Scout, Pulse, Auto, my Kills went way up.

I would like to get good with Hand Cannons but it seems like a waste of time.

I'm contemplating getting the expansion packs. Is there a package deal besides the one that comes with the game? Or should I get that package and return my current copy of the game for whatever they'll give me or something like that?

This is my new glimmer farming technique, basically if you blow by the first ship on exclusion zone, you can quickly kill the yellows and quickly die, filled up my glimmer quick (after a while I stopped trying to pick things up immediately and it went even faster).

On saturday one of my friends finally got a gjallarhorn. He had been struggling to get it since launch. He had been in and out with destiny since TDB. Then out of nowhere while playing nightfalls with some other friends he got it to drop.....and in a fit of rage he deleted it immediately.

When I heard this story and he showed me the proof of his deeds through shareplay I lost my ****. Yelled at his impulsive *** for 30 mins. Has to be the dumbest thing Ive ever heard a player do. Finally gets the gun and he rage breaks it. I asked him why he would do such a thing, and he said its because the game finally decided to give it to him when they are nerfing it. I havent spoken to him since that day.

You dont shard Gjallarhorn. Ever.

So game informer dropped a couple bombs on Destiny today (and will drop more in September's issue). Some highlights:

Level cap is going to be 40

Levels will be based on experience gained (from 1-40) and NO LONGER based on gear. Gear has no light ratings anymore. Meaning you can be level 40 with all white common gear (dont do this though lol).

Peter Dinklage is finished as ghost. A new voice actor is in and has re recorded all of Peter's lines from vanilla destiny and will continue to voice him going forward. Enjoy your dinklage acting while you have it now. Its all being replaced. Same lines, different voice.

Year one gear will not, WILL NOT, be upgradable going forward in year 2.

• Crucible and Vanguard Marks have been consolidated into "Legendary Marks".
• Class armor materials have been removed, consolidated into one source that is shared between all three classes.
• Can now pledge allegiance to a crucible faction, one at a time only. No longer requires wearing a class item. Can also turn in Motes, Weapon Parts, Armor Mats, synths, etc to gain reputation.
• New computer console near the outfitter that allows you to pick a shader you want, and also displays all the shaders you have yet to acquire and how to get them, same system is in place for emblems.
• Presence of "raid-light" mechanics in strikes, Bungie is hesitant to make strikes too complicated due to griefing.

• As an alternative to using or sharding your new high-powered legendary weapons and armor, you can also improve an item you like by sacrificing another piece from the same gear slot. This enables the player to customize the way they look, and weapons they want to use. The mechanic extends to exotics as well, allowing players to power up exotic weapons and armor that might have a lower atk or def value.

• All exotics will have their special perk (ex: Saint-14's blinding ability) unlocked upon aquisition.
• All new exotics are obtained through quest lines, one requires you to explore deep into the Dreadnaught.
