Run strikes and decrypt engrams at your highest light level. That should help.

My hunter is at 281. I have the Telesto fusion rifle which is a lot of fun. It is kind of like a needler.

Court of Oryx seems to be the quickest way to grab some engrams if you have the runes to do it.

As others have said, run the heroic strikes for a prolonged period your drops get better the more consecutive strikes you run. High level court of Oryx is also good. I've got some good rune stones but no one is ever there when I am looking to do it.

It's not 100% accurate, but when it's off, it's usually only by 1 point.

As others have said, run the heroic strikes for a prolonged period your drops get better the more consecutive strikes you run. High level court of Oryx is also good. I've got some good rune stones but no one is ever there when I am looking to do it.

I run in to the same thing with Court of Oryx. The first time I did it I was playing with a friend of mine and when we showed up there happened to be another fireteam there already. We all just kept switching using runes to start encounters, getting mad loot, and I was hooked.

TTK has brought me back to Destiny for now. Have finished the main quest "defeating" Oryx, also up to 40, but my current light level is trash (213). Should I be running quests now to get better gear, or just strikes/patrols? I do have a bunch of quests in my queue, though the rewards haven't been great.

Actually feeling a bit overwhelmed at the stuff to get accomplished and not enough time. I do want to run the new raid eventually having completed the first two.

I haven't run the Court yet. I wish there was a way you get 6-9 friends in without having to coordinate 2-3 people in a fireteam and launching at the same time.

Quests will help.

Basically don't decrypt your engrams all at once. Every time you pop open an engram, it'll usually be within 10 light of your current level. So if you are light level 213 and you pop some gloves, they could be 214-223. Equip those gloves and it raises your light level. Then you pop something else. Equip that, pop something else.

That's the quickest way to level up your light. Don't forget, you can also infuse high level blues into low level purples. I have the Brave ghost shell from the Year One VIP rewards infused to 267 because I was getting blues at higher ranks, but the legendary have extra perks.

This works with weapons and armor too. Use your higher level blue items to infuse lower level purple items.

Yep, its hit and miss. I just finished a run where there were 4 290+ guys screwing around I managed to charge up my level three rune and the gear I got helped me to level 295 with optimal light loadout. Got a 300 level artifact from eris and a 297 level artifact drop along with a 275 ghost. Not a bad run.

So I read a tweet by one of the Destiny accounts this afternoon (sot sure who, can't find it seems it has now disappered, I think it was either Noseworthy or Luke Smith) that basically said the path to 285 was quick and slowed significantly after, but you were then able to raid. Past couple of days I have seen the vast majority of engrams decrypt to 260's or 270's, that was a bit frustrating to say the least. So I ran a couple strikes earlier and, leaving to decrypt having seen all 4 blue engrams that dropped from the bosses wind up 260's, that tweet popped into my mind. So I put on a couple of lower light pieces and was at 287 and decrypted my six engrams. They gave me one 260's, 2 270's and 3 in the 290's, and the 270's were legendaries. Could have all been a massive coincidence, but I think I will try that experiment again.

On the court of oryx thing, I saw on reddit that someone figured if you all go into the dreadnaught by yourselves, then have someone sit at the transition everyone else can go back and forth between instances until everyone is at the same one. Apparently it works pretty fast, though I think I would have one guy sit and then once someone else gets into that instance, everybody else joins their fireteam and that should speed things up.

Thinking on what you wrote, I haven't see many engrams decrypted to 290 stuff since I got above 290. I just got three legendary engrams to decrypt and two of them were below 280. May have to pay attention to this when I devote more time to my Warlock.

I got a couple 297's last night when I was 289. I think it is somewhat RNG.
