Bout time. Their reasoning for dialing back the rewards never made sense to me. Who cares if people race to do the nightfall on Tuesday for the 500 bonus XP, and increased XP rep for the week. Add to that the year 2 content and limited (re: useless) elemental primaries for the time, getting **** rewards and exotics behind a time gate made the Nightfall grind hardly worth it for me personally.

I'm okay dropping the xp boost. I think it should give you legendary marks.

As far as being worth the time, it's not like it's hard to do. I did mine in a row Tuesday, got a last word, 11 strange coins, a devouring maw and another legendary (can't remember what). Took an hour and 20 minutes, counting lfg ing new groups everytime.

I'm pretty sure that if bungie started giving flaming piles of **** as a nightfall reward you would find a way to justify it/be okay with it.

Those are all fine rewards I suppose. But again with half of the year two exotics behind a time gate its not worth it to me to continue to get crap legendaries and duplicates of year 1 exotics I already have. I can run a full kings fall raid in less time than that and far less annoying than the Saber 2 strike.

But to each their own.

I guess I just don't see what's so bad about the Saber strike? It's a strike, like any other? The raid is obviously gets better rewards. But that's not to say taking 20 minutes or so to do a strike that can drop an extra exotic (on top of your 3ofC if you have any, which I did not) is a waste of time.

I also stopped playing entirely probably 5 or 6 weeks after HoW because I had done everything and had everything. I'm so far happy with the rewards if for no other reason in that it extends the incentive for me.

I feel like I get better gear just running level 36 strikes due to the ease of completion and the implementation of the 3oC. I've gotten far better rewards just in the Vanguard strikes than I have in the Nightfall, including exotics. I've yet to get a single exotic in the Nightfall since TTK dropped, but with the 3oC, I've gotten a lot in the 36 strikes, including strike specific legendaries as the cherry on top.

At this point, there's very little reason to run the Nightfall.

Spent 5-6 hours running the raid with a Group off LFG and still wasn't able to kill Oryx. Did it with ease my first time but struggle with this group, only because 1 person in our fireteam didn't have a mic(or didn't want to speak), didn't have a sniper, and was 288 light. Golgoroth took us 30 mins to complete but the sisters took us atleast 2 hours.

I did get the Jade Rabbit out the exotic chest but it dropped at 290. Got 305 boots, 303 Sniper and ghost. I have 33 moldering shards. Is Oryx the only one that takes the 20 shards or can the others? What a good heavy for the raid?

Decided to check LFG if people need help on Oryx and was able to kill him on my second try. It felt good but the rewards where terrible. Got a sniper at 300 and they took my 20 shards to give me 2 shards.

The 20 shards turning into 2 shards is a complete slap in the face.


I really want the IB pulse rifle but...crucible. Oh wellz.

This is pretty much what I was getting at. Before not doing the Nightfall put you at a disadvantage only because you wouldn't have the xp buff. Now that there's no xp buff and we have 3oC doing the Nightfall boils down to doing a strike at a higher difficulty, with a larger number of strange coins as a possible reward being the only difference.

Did the nightfall strike yesterday, took forever because of the stupid Warsat and got Poo rewards.

Definitely was not worth the time I put in, glad they are addressing it.

Again it's cool you are happy with rewards thus far. I don't think they are commensurate with Nightfalls being the second hardest content in the game.

Luke Smith's tweet seems to echo that sentiment which for me is good news. But again to each their own.

I've gotten legendary boots from the nightfall a few times now. Not sure why bungie thought getting boots should be a thing now lol. The weekly crucible bounty has netted me some really good stuff so far. You do the weekly bounties and before you hit a or whatever on your final bounty since you can do so in orbit, just make sure you're level 300+ so if you get an exotic it's 310.

Did they fix the Agonarch rune yet? Last time I was down there it wouldn't work.
