    Re: Destiny

It's because there's too much stuff around for processing. Try picking up the ammo and orbs on the ground. People did that and it fixed the teleporting issue

I couldn't get it to drop ammo for anything, and I don't remember a lot of orbs being generated either. I don't think that's it, doesn't make sense anyway. My theory is that when you stagger the ogres from their initial spawn, there are all the jagged rocks behind. Introduce a bit of lag and you get an ogre clipping into the rocks and....teleport.

There wasn't ammo/orbs on your screen, doesn't mean they weren't there for other people. My groups almost always tether at the beginning and between rounds so titans have bubbles for the shade and ogres.

          Re: Destiny

That still makes zero sense, what would orbs and ammo on the ground do to cause a teleport?

We didn't actually have any hunters, and we had two titans so at most anybody could have anywhere was 6 orbs. There's just not enough adds to create a crazy amount of ammo for the second round of ogres.

If people are using their supers, there's at least 5 to 7 on each side. But in any case, too much ammo or orbs apparently can cause something called "Object Overload". I don't know anything about programming, it's just something I saw on reddit.

I'm about to quit destiny for the fact I can't get in a raid group to get above 309 light. Everyone has requirements of players being 310 or above. It's ridiculous lol. I'll never be at the requirement if I can't get in a hard raid.

Honestly, you just gotta make your own group. At 309, you're not really pulling your own weight at Oryx, and especially during Oryx Challenge week.

Remember when bungie banned gjallarhorn because it messed with looking for group websites?

                  Lol light levels.

I spontaneously felt like playing destiny since I saw my friends online. They invited me to raid with them but cause my light was 305, they were like nah bitch.

Way to go bungie. Way. To. Be. Inclusive.

Pulled my own weight at 296 my first hard mode. I've got touch of malice and a Titan bubble I think I can hold my own. I mean being one light under 310... It's just frustrating it wouldn't hurt to help guys that are right on the cusp or at least give them a chance u know?

Uh, you absolutely did not pull your weight. At 296, you literally can't do any damage to Oryx. There's a huge drop-off under 311, but it's possible (but you have to be really good). But under 300, you don't do any damage.

Anything under 311 on Oryx, you are going to be a hindrance. That doesn't mean it can't be done, but it's significantly harder, especially if you are killing the Knights, as you have to this week. If you try next week, when it should be Warpriest Challenge, you should have better luck. People will be more likely to take a lower level through Oryx when there isn't the challenge, and the Warpriest challenge by itself will get you a 310 and 320 weapon along with a 320 artifact, which will help a ton getting you up.

First you are flat out wrong. As I was in that raid he absolutely "pulled his weight". Totems, war priest, golgorath, runner on sisters, ogres and Knights. He did what was asked of him: don't die and kill things. Given that everyone else was above 315 and had a ToM, he didn't have a lot to do but he did it and we beat HM Oryx with a 296 in the group. It's this elitest attitude that's the problem not his light level.

I have trouble finding a group too, and I'm 312. Seems everyone wants 315 or higher. I guess they were all 315 when it first came out.

If you guys have trouble finding people, I recommend https://www.the100.io/. You can schedule game times or join other people who have done so.

Here's a link to the group I'm in (Echo 775), which has a pretty steady flow of different activities:
We're a casual group, generally playing evenings and weekends. Our average player is level 34-40, but players of all levels are welcome. We have very active members and new games posted regularly, such as weekly nightfalls, heroics and lots of raids. Headsets/ Mics are strongly suggested. If that sounds like a good fit then join us!

Everyone I've played with has been pretty cool, and specific requirements are quite rare unless someone has a finite amount of time and wants to do it "quickly." I find it does help getting to actually schedule an event rather than relying on iffy PUGs.

That is asinine as hell. They just don't want to "work" hard. Even on hard mode the raid isn't difficult with a high impact sniper and a good primary. I've had runs where I never even used my heavy weapon for the entire raid.

Like in the raid I mentioned earlier with Mizzou and his 296 light character. We spent like an hour at Oryx, but it wasn't him that was dying it was people on platforms and the runner (me) was ****ing up sometime. He didn't die once, so when people get all upity about light levels I just laugh. A sound strat and execution matter more IMO.

I never said it wasn't possible. For one, I was wrong, he will do damage at 296, but it's literally with something like a 48% penalty. At 296, there's just no way he was putting significant damage into the shade, and he probably had help with his knight (or you ran no knight). I'm not saying it cannot be done, and kudos to you guys for running him through.

But the point is, if I'm making a group of people I don't know on lfg, I have no way of accounting for a players personal skill. But an average player at 315 is leaps and bounds better than an average player at 309, as they are getting less than half of the damage penalty. On challenge week, where I know we don't have the no knight to fall back on, if I don't know the 309, I'm not taking them unless I can't find guys at the light I want (which has never happened). Next week, I'd take 1, but probably no more than that. I don't think that's elitest at all. It can be done with lower levels, but there is still a penalty up to 320 light. A group all 315+ is likely to have a faster run than a group under that.
