Destiny

Just because a guy is 315 doesn't mean he is good. I've been playing this game since before dark below was released. Let me tell u I have played with a lot of Max level players who just down right sucked even with gjallys, which was the original group restriction.

Let's see I finally got that at house of wolves on a night fall lol. But that's okay I held my own then as I do now regardless of what some almighty destiny players 6-7 light higher than me think.

I have trouble finding a group too, and I'm 312. Seems everyone wants 315 or higher. I guess they were all 315 when it first came out.

If you're on ps4 add OaT_m3aL-- maybe we can find a group of destiny "scrubs" to run with.

Absolutely that's the case. But if you're picking up people whom you do not know, and thus cannot know their skill, a 315 player of the same skill as a 310 player is going to be better. Absolutely, there are 315 players who suck, but at least they aren't working on a damage penalty. I don't think asking for 315 for a 320 activity is remotely the same as requiring gjallerhorn, which is rng and unneccesary for most fights except for maybe solar burn skolas, or asking for lvl 32 or higher for VoG, which makes no difference. Sure, players at sub 310 can and have done Oryx, but they are working at a significantly higher handicap than a 315 player, and the 315 is more likely to be more beneficial simply because of the smaller handicap.

So how do u suggest a player at such a huge 6 light disadvantage to get to 315 when they can't get in a hard raid group. It sounds pretty much the same even worse tho as I never had a 3 day drought of not getting a lfg group.

To start their own group and do a few run up to Oryx first. Most groups didn't beat Oryx the first, or even 2nd week. So use totems, warpriest, Golgoroth, and Daughters to gear up. Next week, it's warpriest challenge, so not only is it a fantastic time to gear up, a lot of more experienced players may not even really be looking to play through Oryx. A 309 incurs no penalties until Golgorath, and even then it's only 2% or so Oryx. And honestly, doing just Warpriest will boost him to 310. With even decent rng, he'll be 311 at Oryx (which is a huge jump in damage), with really good rng, he could be 312 or 313 (I know I went from 307 to 310 on my first run through daughters, and that was without the warpriest challenge).

You can absolutely find groups willing to take a 309; it's just less likely on Oryx Challenge week. If you were on Xbox, I'd even take you on Warpriest week. Also, try looking for the "sherpa" tag, especially on destinylfg.net or reddit. It's not technically sherpaing if you already know the raid and what to do, but sherpas tend to be a lot better equipped to take lower levels.

Or you can just stop riding the hamster wheel altogether. I honestly enjoy reading about destiny about 10x more than playing it these days.

Really wish the sparrow racing had more maps. Can't be lfg, light level locked out of that.

Well I did that til ttk was on sale for 19.99 I started back up 2 weeks ago. Just to find the same can of worms per usual. I really do enjoy the game I just don't enjoy people being *** hats to others that need a little help. I've tried making a group but since I just started back up my only legit friend I have on my list is rob and he's not always on the same schedule as me.

I didn't necessarily mean start a group just with friends. Go to LFG, put your light level and make it clear in the description you're looking to get up to Oryx, and maybe try him. There's probably a lot of people in a similar boat.

This conversation is funny. Playing with randoms is tough, there will always be people that have stupid requirements because they are full of themselves and want things to be easy.

Honestly you just gotta keep grinding to find a bunch of good people then hold on to them like grim death.

I'm lucky to have found some really awesome people to play with. You know who you are.

Well took down hard oryx challenge like a boss.. Defeated him three times before he finally didn't glitch at the end. At 314 light now.. Yup definitely held my own [emoji41] especially since I was the only Titan. Bungie definitely needs to work on oryx tho that crap is glitchy as hell. We detonated all the bombs three times the first two times he didn't even take a spec of damage lol. 3rd time he went half down. Fourth time we said f it and went five rounds and he went down like a boss.

I know it was glitchy but when u detonated the bombs were they all timed? Like did they pretty much go off 1 after the other?

We thought that was the problem. Like one run 1 guy got in a little too early and his went off way before any others so we thought it was a timing thing. I didn't know that was happening to others. I know the ogres teleporting/lag switching and using ionic blink was pretty frustrating tho. They went from corner to where Oryx first spawns I'm just like bruh the whole time.

I really hope they add more content though. Like something besides the usual stuff or these srl events. Racing is cool and well put together for what it is, but only 2 maps for 3 weeks is a little too repetitive even though that's what Destiny is built on.
