I think the hardest part of the Vosik challenge was just hitting the doors with the bombs. They are so fickle with the placement and whether activation occurs. I'm only guessing but I think the Aksis challenge will be to use only two pillars before killing him. I'm not really sure what else it could be; the empowerment is random and I don't think the game tracks who uses the cannons.

Challenge mode is already out? I feel like that was hardly advertised or announced. Strange.

It does track who uses cannons tangentially, it registers who kills the servitors.

Good god Aksis challenge mode sounds literally impossible for LFG groups. I'm hoping the community as a whole just straight up decides it's not worth doing and skips it.

Do you still get a package for reaching rank 3 or 5 in IB? Currently rank 3 but Efrideet has no package for me.

Loving the Iron Banner. Finally beginning to have a consistently plus 1 k/d ratio and in around 8 matches have gotten 4 pieces of armor to raise my light level to just under 394. I can see what I will be doing all tonight and tomorrow night before I go away for a few days.

I hit level 5 and no packages. I think that quest was a one-time thing back in October when Iron Banner first came out. Now you get gear from completing each of the bounties, and of course as match rewards, but that's all. Leveling up only matters if you want to buy the vendor gear.

Huh. Good to know. That's a change from all previous IB. But I like it. Finish the bounties get 4 items. Cool

                        Re: Destiny

For those that struggled with the Aksis challenge, I can say that - by far - the best strategy is, not surprisingly, the simplest one. Left and Right stand on or quite close to their own supercharge plates and look forward. If Aksis doesn't teleport to your side, you're in perfect position to supercharge immediately. Center simply covers the center from the middle position (above the stairs). I'd recommend looking towards the back if you're center, because you either have the plate or an Aksis appearance vs. just the teleport up front, but that's more personal preference. Hopefully your teammates provide callouts but you can also use your radar for help.

After 7+ hours of using other strategies, we were able to clear the challenge in under an hour using the above. I guess this isn't a huge help right now but for those that struggled, use this the next time the challenge comes up (which I imagine is next week).

Quick questions for you guys. Me and a buddy were thinking about picking up just the main game for $6 right now. Neither one of us know much about the game, but were just hoping to co-op together.

Is it worth it at that price? Or is it more of a big DLC grab? Anything else you guys can tell me?

                          Thanks, brothers.

$6 is a fine price for the base game, but I think unless you actively dislike the game or don't have much free time, you're going to want the DLC. At this point the DLC comprises >50% of the total content offered. All the end-game stuff will be locked behind those DLC paywalls.

You'll get access to the base missions and one raid, maybe a few other things, but you will also be inundated with content you can't use. This is mostly attempts to get you to buy the DLC, of course.

If you're really not sure if you'll like the game, I think you're safe to start with just the base material. See how it feels for you. Be prepared, however, to shell out for the litany of add-ons.

Everything up to Rise of Iron is available for $30: https://www.amazon.com/Destiny-Taken...00ZJ20YQO?th=1. Rise of Iron would be another $30, unless you can find it on sale somewhere for less. Of course it is up to you whether you'd consider the initial $30 worth it when you haven't played the game yet and don't know much.

I've paid for everything individually, so I think I'm into this game $160 total if I'm accurate. Personally I think the game is absolutely worth the $60 price of admission for everything, but that's of course my own opinion. Depends what kind of games you are into, though having a friend will make the game a lot more fun for each of you.

I suppose you'll also want to keep in mind raiding usually requires six players, and some harder content will require a full fireteam of three. You can use LFG sites, such as reddit or the100.io, to find players to fill your group. Not everything in the game offers matchmaking (it is mostly the end-game stuff that does not, such as nightfalls and raids).

One of the silly design quirks of the game.

Appreciate the response. Any idea how much content we can expect for just the base game? We've never really played a game like this together. Is the full game pretty much co-op?
