    YES!

    Spoiler

Definitely my first "Ah-Ha" moment of the game. I still get the feeling that I'm overleveled (60?) and my weapons/armor are way under-leveled.

Are weapons and armor less durable? It just feels like my armor and especially weapons start to break down midway through any serious adventuring.

Yes they are, when you rest at a bonfire it repairs itself unless you actually broke the item. In the case you have to go to the blacksmith. I think the repair powder may fix it as well.

There's a ring that slows down degradation. I can't remember where I found it. Sorry :/.

Died on the Bridge in corpse heading into what may have been a boss fight. There's a pretty tough enemy that way.

I'm so terrible at combat. I have to read walkthroughs, watch YouTube videos, etc..., to help me know what to do. It's the only way that I can enjoy the game right now.

Dark Souls is one series that I've never really considered taking on with no outside help at all. I know there are people good enough to do it, but I am not one of them.

Cleared just about every area so far, I can sense the end is coming. Just need to get through the gutter and anything else that comes after, if any.

Trying to level up my guys dex to 20 so I can use the Dragleic sword. Currently wearing the armor set and shield, and embracing the slow roll. Not quite at the fat roll yet, which looks like you only get it if you go over 100%?

Made quite a bit of progress today. Made it to the bonfire in Heide's Tower, and even managed to kill a few of the big dudes in the area (not sure what they are called). However, when I came upon the three of them in one area, I decided to back off and head back to Majula.

From there, I dove into the Forest of Fallen Giants. I made some good progress, but have died three or so times along the rooftops, twice from falling while trying to recover my lost souls.

Probably gonna try to get through more of the forest tonight if I can. Having a lot of fun with this game. The more I play, the more confident I am with combat, and up until the last couple of deaths that were related to falling, I believe I had only died twice in combat.

The big knights at Heide's aren't too bad solo, but are a pain if they gang up on you. They mostly follow a three swing pattern, leaving them open. If you're quick enough you can strafe around them.

Also, came back to the hub to see the Covenant Cat NPC sitting in a chair. The damn thing is moving around on me

Finally got my lightning claymore to +10. I've been swapping between that, normal claymore +10 and a +6 poison black steel katana.

Unfortunately, I decided to throw out my vigor. I'm at 10 vigor, so I'm usually 1 or 2 shot killed. Other than that, my guys quick and relentless with attacks since I keep a bunch of green blossoms on me.
