Re: Day Z
Breaking point is basically PvP with a couple of survival aspects (definetly not it's main focus). DayZ is similar just has more survival options. At this point BP has better zombies and runs a lot better than Dayz.Comment

Re: Day Z
Have they finally optimized this game so that it runs over 10 FPS in cities? Seems like they've been working on this alpha for an eternity. Is the optimization patch coming in the summer?Comment

Re: Day Z
It runs a bit better but then again, there's no zombies in the Experimental build so there's that.Aaron

Re: Day Z
I would wait if I were you until they release build that increases the FPS of the game. As it stands now, the game is horribly optimized and almost unplayable in cities. I don't have the beefiest computer, but I get 40 FPS outside of cities and 20ish in Cherno and Electro.Comment

What kind of rig you have because I dont get unplayable fps and i have everything maxed out. 60+ everywhere never under 40 even in big cities. Now if i dropped graphics to "normal" id be in the 80s.

Re: Day Z
Read some of my old write ups from this thread of things that happened in DayZ Standalone. Its far from perfect but in my opinion better than the mod, while not as feature rich yet, it is going in the right direction. In my honest opinion, its worth the purchase.Comment

Re: Day Z
If I maxed it out I was always 18 to mid 20's in cities and 50s in the wilderness. It was and still is an alpha though. I never ran it max though because once they really started expanding the northern part of the map, cities like the one with the very tall hotel like building destroyed my frames even mostly at normal.
I have a decent i5 2500k, 2x GTX 660's in SLI, and 8GB RAM, but it still was pretty choppy there and in places like Svetlo too. The problem was the optimization for sure as it never really used any of my cores which isn't surprising considering the engine.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Day Z
No matter what the game never would use my cores and my gpu usage never really went above 50% for either card. I haven't played in awhile, so maybe things have changed with the optimisation, but the game never did seem optimized well for my system at least. Yet it ran well enough I could handle it. DayZ is slow enough 30 fps is enough for me to not be bothered though 60 is always nice.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
