    Jedi Academy?

Has anybody played this game? I was wondering if it as good game to buy, or pretty much a game to rent.

if you've played kotor then this is a definite renter.

It probably follows the mold of the first jedi knight game and maybe the second but in my opinion it's not that great.

The control is a little off and the graphics aren't good. Even thought I was weilding a light saber and I had force powers, it just didn't seem fun. Getting frustrated with controls and jumping from platform to platform in order to find items for an hour just isn't my bag.

    edit: happy b-day!

          Re: Jedi Academy?

I got this for Xmas and started playing it recently. It is a lot like Jedi Outcast II except it has improved in three regards:

          1) not as much platform jumping. There is one level so far, but not too bad.

          2) those guys (the Greedo species) with disintigration rifles are not as accurate, nor does one shot kill you. How many times did I have to load a game in Outcast after getting disintigrated by a guy so far away I couldn't even see him? Too many to count. That was fixed.

          3) you get a lightsaber right away. You can choose your color and hilt. And later on you can choose dual sabers or staff. Pretty cool.

On the downside the reviews are right, the story kinda stinks. You are mostly told what is happening instead of watching/playing it. I am moving thru this game faster cause I beat Outcast. Newbies might have a tough go. Controls are awkward.

It's no KOTOR, but Star Wars fans should own it if you ever dreamed of being a Jedi. Rent first for everyone else.
