    Disney Infinity

Watch out Skylanders and Activision, this looks way too cool and will probably be the next big thing since it uses Toy Story 3's Toy Box with Disney characters ala Skylanders characters on the portal.

    Re: Disney Infinity

First it was guitars all over my house from Guitar Hero and Rock Band, now it'll be toys from Skylanders and Infinity.

I have no doubt my kids will want this (as will I). I'm a little, okay, I'm very concerned with the pricing structure though.
    • Starter Pack: $74.99
    • Play Set Pack: $34.99
    • Disney Infinity Figure: $12.99
    • Figure 3-Pack: $29.99
    • Power Disc Pack: $4.99
So the game is in line with Skylanders, but then it gets nutty. To add a new "world" into the game it's $35. Three new guys is $30.

And people thought horse armor for Oblivion for $2 was ridiculous, you can add a vehicle for $5.

So the people complaining about say Forza or BlOps2 season pass at $50, look at this here. Setting new standards for this game. Hearing already 4 play sets ready to roll at or after launch. And numerous guys adding on, you're looking at at least a $200 investment, probably closer to $300 to keep up with it.

And sadly, I'll have it all... LOL

I'm a Disney fan, do you think this will have enough gaming for adults, or should I just wait for whenever we have kids lol

I agree though, these games get you buying all the addons and feeling good about it somehow....

Did you play Toy Story 3 for 360/PS3? It's the Toy Box mode from that expanded. Then mix in Skylanders (should have a demo for that at a Best Buy), and you have Disney Infinity.

So yes, it should be a great game. The Toy Box mode was awesome, my son still plays it all the time. It's free roaming Disney. You can build buildings, add in people, services, etc. Mold your own world.

My 4 year old plays that game all the time, he loves Toy Story 3. We just last week bought him Toy Story Mania and even though it is simple, it's a fun little game. My kids just got into Skylanders this past Christmas and we have bought them several of the figures. I have a feeling that once Infinity comes out, they will want this. I love the Disney characters so this looks to be cool. Only thing I am not thrilled about is the $35 a world price tag. Now that seems kind of expensive. Do you also get figures with that?

It's something like $270 but I had some trades for gamestop so I only ended up spending $120 for everything. If you are near toys r us they have everything as buy 1 get 1 50% off and target has the cars and lone ranger playsets for $18

My son's turning 7 in October and has asked for this game as his birthday gift.

                      Thanks!

Don't get the patch if you have it on PS3 and delete the patch if you've already got it.

How fun is this for adults? I know it's for kids, but just wondering.

Obviously in the future when I have kids I'd be considering this more, but do any of you guys play this without the kids or no?

My daughter (almost 5) and I had a blast just playing around the Toy Box mode for a couple hours last night. It's her first video game experience (aside from the iPad) so she's still figuring out the controls but I loved seeing her light up at the idea and I'm pretty sure we'll be playing this again tonight. Maybe we'll even get into the actual game some...

If you're son's already played games before, he'll probably be able to get into it more at the beginning though. Also, if you decide to get it for him, Amazon has the Cars playset for $20 right now. Hate to tack on more $ right now but it's normally $35 and I can't imagine a 7-yr-old boy that doesn't like Cars. At $15 off, I had to jump at it...I'm already prepping for a nagging from the wife on that one.

If he doesn't know about it then save it for a present in a few weeks/months.

I don't have kids yet, but that's my plan lol. I see it with nieces/nephews at Christmas...you get the toy overload so stuff gets overlooked. They hide some of the toys after they open them (and dismiss them) and bring them back in a month or so when they're new again lol.

For here, he can enjoy the starter kit for a while, and when you're ready drop Cars on him...you save, but don't give him everything at once.

                              That's my theory at least...
