I'm early in the game still, level 4 early, but everyone I have played is extremely aggressive in game one. I can play 1 cards while they play high cards and basically run them out of enough cards to play me in games 2 and 3.

I've had situatuons where the AI cedes game 2 simply to have a card for game 3. And then they drop a 2 and I'm like, here's my 6. Bye. And I still have two other 5s in my deck waiting.

That's my only beef. I sure hope the challenge improves as you move deeper into the world.

I just bumped up to the 3rd level finally. Don't really see the difference quite yet (other than the fact you can't heal with meditation). Might just go all the way up depending on how the next few big battles feel.

Just spent a fun hour clearing out ?'s in one section of the Velen map, and it feels like I didn't even make a dent.

Yeah, just wait until you come across opponents with hero cards and Monster decks.

Btw find the witcher gears in the game. They look and are sooo much better than the random gear you find elsewhere. I looked like a court jester with the different colors I had on before lol. Im focusing on cat gear for my signs build.
I believe it. He got a string in on me and took 3/4 of my health. I had to play it safe after that. After the fight when he was slouched over on the chair I just stood over him a minute.

I'm carrying around the enhanced Griffin armor set, but I can't break away from the Cat armor. It looks too BAMF.

Monster decks aren't bad so long as you have a Biting Frost card to play. You just have to wait until they play those muster cards.

Yeah I played a merchant with monster decks and he destroyed me. I hate that the Dirty Deeds treasure hunt is bugged, I'm not sure if I fully completed that treasure hunt.

I just started playing today. Is leveling up always so slow? I think it took me five hours to get to level 2. It also seems like all the enemies are higher level than myself and pretty much kick my *** at all times.

The last couple of times I've played Gwent, after I ceded round 1 after a few cards, the opponent has ceded round 2 with out playing a single card to set up a all in battle in round 3. I won those games, but both of them required every card in my deck and was lucky to have the right counters and barely one buy a couple of points. It's also funny when some random, no shirt wearing merchant, has a loaded deck and just bombs you out effortlessly in two rounds.

For me, it seemed like leveling up was slow through level 4, i.e., while in White Orchard, once I got to Velen, the levels have been flying by. I'm at level 10 now and it seems like I went through 6-9 in no time at all. There is so much more to do in Velen and a lot more quests where you can get hundreds of points in a very short time.

I want to take more screenshots in this game, but it have subtitles on.

It's the only way to ensure I don't miss anything said.

The last few days, I've been having a hard time remembering some of my earlier side quests. I'm finally reaching that place in the game where some of my earlier actions are showing their impact in the world, and sometimes I just sit there for a sec and go," Wait. Who was that guy again? I did what now?"

Don't get me wrong, I remember a lot of the side missions very vividly. And I know exactly what a lot of these people's names are and what they look like and everything. But I've now done so many side missions that some of the details are pretty fuzzy on some of them.

I wish the character list had side characters in it too.

Any advice on how to avoid this happening more? Does a pen and paper sound like a good solution? Have any of you come up with your own methods?
I'm in the same boat. My memory is below average as it is, to the point where when I boot up for the first time after a couple days I have to look around for a second and remind myself where I'm at, what quest I'm on, and what's happening in general.

I just ran across an interaction where someone came and helped me get somewhere and said "so and so sends his regards," and I have no idea who that person was.

I gotta write stuff down! Maybe second playthrough I'll keep a journal

The thing is sometimes I get XP from enemies and sometimes I don't. I also don't know if treasure hunts are supposed to give XP, can anyone clarify that for me?

Can someone explain to me how to upgrade your armor? I know there's runestones, but from what I'm hearing you can get heavier/lighter armor and make it better? Is it just for witcher gear (I have all the griffin stuff)?

Yeah you find the diagrams for the witcher gear, I think the treasure hunts cover all the witcher gear, and you start with basic, then you take that item and make it enhanced, then superior, then master. It's the same item, you're not making a new one each time. Its level tiered, I think at 26 I get to upgrade from enhanced to superior, and 31 from superior to master.

The AI doesn't really improve, you will get out carded though.

The only time I've seen the AI cede the first round is when they have one or more spies, then they will play those and cede round one, but assuming you have spy cards yourself to play or are slow playing round one it usually doesn't help. I've never seen the AI play any smarter, I've seen massive decks that will just outright slaughter, but for the most part the AI plays the same.
