Took a break and came back and beat him on my next attempt. He was tougher than the Baron, for sure. My Northern realms deck was in struggle mode.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Wow holy cow.....
I just read that the max level is 70?
I'm probably about 35 hours in and am just lvl 19.
Is anyone close to 70? How do you even get that high, just a lot of grinding?"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: The Witcher 3
You gotta have a higher number of unit strength cards on the floor than your opponent. When you're like 10-15 units better in the first round just pass so he'll pass then you'll win the round. Cause if you make it to round 3 with no cards the cpu will probably have a card or 2 left and he'll automatically win. My way of winning is I usually throw the first round by placing all the spy cards I have down giving me extra cards to demolish the opponent in the 2nd and 3rd round.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Monster decks give me the biggest trouble, but I've started stacking Biting Frost in against those opponents because they always load up those muster cards on the close combat line. I've beaten everybody in Velen except for Fergus' apprentice.
I finally ventured up to Novigrad to find Triss. That welcoming committee could use some brushing up on their etiquette. I did a couple of quests, but I mainly ran around collecting all of the Cat School armor and weapons. The armor set makes Geralt look like a boss.
Are there only two armor sets for the Scavenger Hunts? The Cat School and Griffin School sets?

Re: The Witcher 3
I had something interesting happen with one of the random encounters:
Several days ago while roaming Velen I happened upon a soldier tied up and left along the lake-shore for the Drowners. Apparently he was a run-away soldier, but when he returned home the villagers decided his cowardice needed to be punished. Instead of leaving him there I decided to let him go.
Yesterday I was roaming just south of Novigrad and came upon the same man except this time he had made camp a little bit off the road with 3 other bandits. There were also some local villagers impaled on pikes around the camp. Suffice to say Geralt was none too happy about this guy's turn of events and decided to put an end to this enterprise.
Its the small things like that that really go a long way in building up the world and providing some really cool moments.

Re: The Witcher 3
Ok so I've been watching some YouTube videos and reading reviews on this game and it sounds amazing. My only fantasy RPG I've played is Skyrim which I really enjoyed. I'm thinking about going out and getting this game today and I'm pretty excited I must say. I do have one question, how scary is this game? I'm not huge fan of horror or scary things lol, but if it's not too bad this is a definite buy for sure.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
I don't handle scary games very well so I'm with ya.
I've played since launch and there may b a couple missions that are a little creepy (haunted house kinda stuff) but it's very mild. No jump scares or anything like that"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."
