So once you complete the story can you go back and do side quest contracts and treasure hunts?

I disagree. If you're talking main story missions and the secondary missions that have an effect on the main story, you're quite a bit over 50% done once you hit Skellige.

Novigrad/No Man's Land is the long part of the game. Business picks up now.

Though if you're in to exploring everything, you still have a lonnnnnng way to go.

Some secondary quests are missable (i.e. automatically failed) once you hit a certain part of the story. Don't worry, you'll get a warning once you do and will be asked to save.

Witcher Contracts and Treasure Hunts can be completed anytime.

Either way, still a ways to go if one doesn't just rush thru story missions. Things really pick up FAST come Isle of Mists.

There are so many meaty side quests to do in this game that keep me totally enthralled that I've barely touched the main story. Love it.

So I have a lot of letters from notice boards in my inventory. Can I sell/drop them once I read them?

There are also a bunch of quests that dont show on the map. I found a body just randomly exploring had a note that lead to a small quest about a half hour/hour long. No question mark or anything on the map. Pretty cool.

I'm really looking forward to the stash. I'm tired of carrying both my Griffin and Feline sets around. I'm using Feline armor but Griffin weapons until my level goes up for the next stage of Feline weapons. I alternate between the two a lot.

After a solid month and a half of practically playing everyday, I haven't played the past 2 weeks waiting for the patch to drop. I'm getting antsy!

They could release it any day for us PC guys but the console certification for the patch is holding it up.

                        Re: The Witcher 3

Regarding how far some of you are in the game, here's a little help -

There's 57 main quests that are mandatory. There's 28 remaining once you get to Skellige. Once you get there, you're a little over 50% of the way through the main quest.

There's 57 main quests, 146 side quests (optional), 26 contracts, 13 fist fights, 11 horse races, 4 scavenger hunts and 30 treasure hunts. This doesn't include any of the free DLC.

With the exception of two optional side quests that I missed at Kaer Morhen and a few "random" event quests, I have completed everything. Only have two "?" remaining which im guessing are part of the main quests that I have remaining.

I'm currently at the "Through Time and Space" main quest and including this one, I have eight left and the game will then be done.....

.....until next year when I play through it a second time once the second expansion gets released. The Witcher 3 is that good. Best part is that not a single quest sucked, at least to me anyway and even the few that I didn't care for were at least a 7/10. The quality in this game is simply amazing.

Easily my game of the year thus far and it's not even close. Every area has been great and every quest has great. No half assed crappy fetch quests here. Even the side quests have a mini story to them. Anyone who's playing this game should try their best to complete everything simply because it's worth doing so in my opinion.

The patch isn't ready yet. It's the bigger patch so far and they want to avoid any bugs caused by this update. Most probably it will be released earlier on the PC platform.

They've already said that they want it released simultaneously on all platforms.
