    The Sims

I don't get the hype. I got this game for my girlfriend because she said she wanted that and the Unleashed expansion pack since she's into animals. I sat down and played it for a couple of hours today and I don't get why these games are so popular. To me the game seemed more stressful than anything, you just live out the lives of these people and try to fit all the crap they need to do into a day. Seemed like life, there's more stuff you need to do than what you can fit into a day, is there a secret to it or something I'm not getting or are these games just not my cup of tea?

I love games like Sim City and Roller Coaster Tycoon, but I find The Sims game ******** as well.
Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.

i got the sims when it first came out.. it shouldnt be treated like actual life.. but a game. you win by getting the final job or whatever. i didnt buy any expansions so i dont know how it changes.. but if you think of it just as a game.. and not as a simualation of life.. its not really stressful. i mean for instance.. on new years eve i installed it again after not having played it for a few years.. it was fun for a while like a game.. you just try and achieve different goals.... now.. what it has become on line is a mess. from what i understand.. people are like living lives on there and everything. thats a bit screwed up imo.

I've tried the sims for an hour before, and it drove me crazy. Living my own life can get stressful enough, I don't want to have to micromanage some computer guy's life...

They're just not your cup of tea. Some people love these games and some people hate them. It's just the way it goes.

I personally like the games. I found it pretty fun to try and go all the way up in the career ladder and see how big of a house I could get. I could understand how some people would find it boring though. Like I said you love it or hate it.
