Here are a few reasons to buy this game at launch:

    1) Free DLC
    2) All weapons unlocked at the jump
    3) Arguably the best looking game for PS4.
    4) Offline Bots
    5) Customized "Warzones" so you can tinker with the settings to you liking and that "Warzone" will have it's own self-contained leaderboard.
    6) The game mode "Warzones" which is the very best mode in MP shooters. Warzone is a best of seven match that consists of different gametypes that are randomized. It is exemplified the above video.
    7) GG has vowed to support this game for years to come
    8) 60 FPS for MP
    9) The single player is not as linear as before. The player will have many different options to carry out missions. Think Dishonored.
    10) No aim assist. Straight skill homie.
That's an awesome sell job. :-)
I am gonna check out some videos and seriously consider making this one of my launch games. Funny, my first 2 launch games were NBA 2K14 and Madden. Now I am leaning towards this game and Assassin's Creed IV. Of course that is subject to change as well.

    Thanks for all the info!

We have placeable spawn beacons. Can be destroyed or deconstructed by the enemy.

Sony is set to release a PlayStation 4 bundle that'll include a game and extra accessories for the same price the Xbox One will retail at in Europe.

Though the bundle hasn't been officially announced, that ever-trusty bastion of leaks Amazon France has revealed it'll include a copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall, the PlayStation 4 Camera and two DualShock 4 controllers. All this in addition to a Jet Black 500GB PlayStation 4 console.

At the moment the bundle is listed for retail at €499; the exact same amount as Microsoft's European Xbox One price.

Killzone Shadowfall Multiplayer Detailed - Part 1

Explore the new generation PlayStation 4 and PS5 consoles - experience immersive gaming with thousands of hit games in every genre to rewrite the rules for what a PlayStation console can do.

                Player Mechanics:
Most of the player mechanics available in the single-player campaign are now also available in multiplayer. This includes the cover system that allows you to snap in to/lean out of/vault over cover, as well as the sliding mechanic. In addition, the brutal melee system has been expanded with drop-down melees (as seen in the single-player playthrough).

                Weapons:
Multiplayer features 22 different weapons, all of them unlocked from the get-go. Your ability to master the weapons is key, as each weapon has very different dynamics. For an in-depth look at the new weapons, read our “Guerrilla Armory” articles about the StA-55 assault rifle, the VC-15 shotgun pistol, the M55 assault rifle and the VC-30 shotgun. More weapon articles are coming to Killzone.com soon!

                Attachments:
There are 19 different weapon attachments in multiplayer, unlocked by completing specific challenges. You can use these to extend the functionality of your weapons in a variety ways, from enhanced scopes to new ammo types to secondary fire options. Adding attachments that complement your playing style can greatly enhance your combat effectiveness.

                Classes & Abilities:
There are three distinct classes and 12 unique special abilities in multiplayer. Each of the classes can be enhanced with up to two special abilities, allowing for some highly specialized playing styles. We’ll cover the three classes and their available abilities in more detail in the coming weeks, but we can already reveal that there will be a Placeable Spawn Beacon ability.

                Custom Warzones:
Warzones, with their trademark rotating mission modes, return to multiplayer with supercharged customization features. There are eight mission modes in total, four of which are new to Killzone. More importantly, you can customize these modes to your heart’s content and share your favorite settings with the rest of the community. We will regularly highlight popular and interesting community-created Warzones for you to try out.

                Combat Honors:
Combat Honors are temporary bonuses that can be activated by earning enough points during a round. These bonuses stay active for as long you continue play - when your play session ends, you lose your Combat Honors. Combat Honor bonuses range from an increase to movement speed to reduction in recoil.

                Post-Launch Support:
We aim to keep the post-launch multiplayer experience fresh through the frequent release of paid DLC expansion packs that offer new gameplay and customization features. At the same time, all DLC multiplayer maps will be released free of charge to prevent the player base from becoming fractured.
NOTE: Combat honors can be disabled. I will only be creating/playing in rooms where they are disabled.

                  Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall

Killzone Shadowfall Multiplayer Detailed - Part 2

Explore the new generation PlayStation 4 and PS5 consoles - experience immersive gaming with thousands of hit games in every genre to rewrite the rules for what a PlayStation console can do.

                  Progression System:
Unlike previous Killzone games the multiplayer progression in Killzone Shadow Fall isn’t based on XP, but on Challenges. Completing a challenge adds a point to your rank, and rewards you with weapon attachments as well as enhancements to your abilities and visual identity. There will be more than 1500 challenges available when the game launches, ranging from straightforward (“Destroy 1 Turret”) to very specific (“Kill 1 enemy player with Laser Tripmine while they are carrying a Beacon”).

                  Combat Honors:
Combat Honors are temporary bonuses that can be activated by earning enough points during a round. They’re stackable, and you can unlock as many Combat Honors as you put points into. They only last as long as your play session, however, meaning you’ll lose all combat honors when you quit playing. Of course, you can disable Combat Honors in your own Custom Warzones if you like.

                  Weapons & Attachments:
Weapons can be augmented with up to two different attachment types at once. The number of attachments available for each weapon varies – for example, some guns won’t have room for a grenade launcher attachment, while others will be compatible with a range of grenade launcher attachments and ammo types. All weapons are skill-based – there will not be recoil-less or auto-aiming firearms.

                  Shields:
As glimpsed in the Gamescom multiplayer trailer, players can now select the ability to deploy a smart nano-shields that block enemy attacks while allowing allied projectiles through. The nano-shields can be destroyed or knocked out with EMP weapon attachments, or simply deconstructed when no longer needed. As with all class abilities, players have the option of disabling nano-shields in their custom Warzones. We’ll cover the classes and their available abilities in more detail in the coming weeks.

                  Spotlight System:
The Spotlight System allows you to celebrate your victory in style. At the end of each round, players are presented with a brief scene featuring the three top players from the winning side and the top player from the losing side. One of the winning players gets to select a Spotlight move to celebrate his victory over the losing player. If he fails to execute the move in time, the losing side has an opportunity to perform a countermove. The game ships with a wide selection of Spotlight moves, and more will be released after launch.

                  Warzone Leaderboards:
In Killzone Shadow Fall, each warzone will have its own leaderboard. This doesn’t just apply to official or featured Warzones, but to custom ones as well. You can even choose which stats you want the leaderboard to be ranked on when you set up a custom Warzone, to encourage a particular form of play.

                  Online and Offline Bots:
You can add bots to online matches for any Warzone you create. Human players can replace bots during the match, to ensure that there’s always a consistent amount of players present in the Warzone. You can even add bots to only one faction, to allow for ‘Bots vs. Humans’ type Warzones. In offline mode you can still create your own Warzones and play against bots, but you don’t have the ability to complete Challenges.

                  No Exoskeletons or Jetpacks:
Owing to the decision to ensure that custom Warzone presets work on all multiplayer maps, there will be no Exoskeletons or Jetpacks in multiplayer when Killzone Shadow Fall launches. Their inclusion would introduce a wide number of new variables and exceptions to account for, and we want to focus on offering fair, reliable and consistent Warzone customizability.

In part 3 we’ll address clan support, network structure and any other questions you may have about Killzone Shadowfall multiplayer. Don’t hesitate to ask questions in the comments below – we hear you, and will try our best to answer them in the next update.

More answers to questions from GG. Can be found in the comments section below Mutiplayer Revealed #2

@DerrickMan1: Yes, PlayStation Plus is required to play Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer online.

hsotnas80: Warzone games featuring bots will not count towards completing challenges.

@KRadiation: We will offer colorblind support for Killzone Shadow Fall, yes.

@recca33: Instead of XP, the new progression system rewards you with perks such as weapon attachments and ability enhancements, as well as increases in rank.

@CyanideTGX: Yes, using Custom Warzones you can staff an entire team with bots.

@Pixxel_94: All weapons available in multiplayer mode can also be found in the single player campaign. Although the Tactician, Engineer and Medic classes don't exist in this game, the new Support class will feature abilities that offer similar functionality. We'll have more about the classes in an upcoming Killzone.com article.

@SkydivingGamer: Yes, there will be default/official Warzones. In addition, we'll frequently highlight new and interesting custom Warzones created by the community. Both will be easily accessible from the game.

@InTeX69: OWLs and other personal combat drones (revive drones, air support drones etc.) can be customized through skins.

@LingeringRegime: With regard to Spawn Beacons, they can be destroyed by any class - some weapons will yield quicker results than others, though.

@UnbelievablyRaw: There's a slight delay as you set up your shield, and you don't have your weapon during this period. After that you have to wait until the shield is destroyed or dismantled before you can place a new one. With regards to hip-firing - that's still an option, but some weapons can only be fired by aiming down the sights. Finally, rocket and grenade launchers are now available as attachments for certain primary weapons.

@SterileKiLL: There aren't any major advantages to gain by exploiting the progression system in this manner, since all weapons and class abilities are already unlocked. That doesn't mean people won't try to invent ways to exploit it - but if they do, we'll invent new ways to reward real skill.

@KRadiation @Leolab There won't be a splitscreen mode in Killzone Shadow Fall.

@LingeringRegime As Creativate said, the disguise class is indeed gone. We'll have more information about the new classes on the site soon.
                        Spoiler

@pnetrw: In fact, that goes for your other concerns as well - if you don't like a particular mechanic, create or search for a custom Warzone without one and you're golden. :smileyhappy:

                          kzsf_in_2013-09-13_pnv06-petrusite-cannon_03.jpg

Guerrilla Armory is a series of exclusive Killzone.com articles that highlights new weapons from Killzone: Shadow Fall’s extensive lineup. In this installment we take a look at the Helghast PNV-06 Petrusite Cannon, a production model of the prototype StA-5X Arc Cannon from Killzone 3. We asked art director and firearms designer Roy Postma a few questions about the PNV-06.
How did the PNV-06 come into existence?

“We really wanted to bring a Petrusite weapon back to the game, because we loved the special effects for the Arc Cannons in previous Killzone titles, and their presence clearly illustrated the potential of Petrusite as a power source. Of course, those Arc Cannons were just early prototypes, and 30 years have passed since. It’s safe to assume that the Helghast have perfected the technology by now.

While the old Arc Cannons were deliberately designed to feel incomplete or slapped together from custom parts, we went in the opposite direction for the PNV-06 and tried to show what weaponized Petrusite could bring to the Helghast arsenal. To achieve this we started out with a nice, sleek body that could properly house all the components and look like a real production weapon – one that didn’t look as though it might kill the operator as well as the target.

The initial design was based on the idea that the PNV-06 would fire heavy Petrusite projectiles in single charged shots, but in practice, that made it function too much like a sniper rifle-like weapon. We had to find a way to increase the fire rate, but we couldn’t just make it fire faster – this is still a Petrusite weapon after all, and each shot requires a charge-up period.

In the end we decided to triple the size of the weapon, creating a brand new body that could house three firing mechanisms and thee barrels. The resulting beast was so big it had to be fired from the shoulder, but our work paid off – the PNV-06 now fires high-power destructive Petrusite shells in fast, three-shot bursts, showing off its true damage potential and value as a suppressive fire weapon.”

Without real-life counterparts to use as reference, how did you ensure the PNV-06 appears functional and realistic?

“A weapon like this is supposed to look special and distinguished from regular firearms, so the trick is actually to not look at real-life weapons. The previous Arc Cannons were constructed out of parts we took from scrapyards, electric engines, car seat frames and so on. For the PNV-06, I shifted my focus to modern sports car aluminum frames and motor blocks and such, to ensure that it would feel modern and clean, and would also stand out from the more traditional weapons. We retained the logic behind its firing mechanism from previous prototypes, and finished it off with more traditional gun parts such as rails, a standardized magazine and optics, to firmly cement it in the world of firearms.”

Petrusite weapons were extremely rare in Killzone 3 – is that still the case with the PNV-06?

“This thing turned out so big and powerful it just had to stay in the ‘exotic’ category. Then again, the fact that it has left the prototype phase and turned into a proper weapon, leading the Helghast to adopt it into their arsenal as a support weapon, means you will most definitely encounter this beast more frequently than its predecessors.”

Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer features three distinct character classes: the Assault class, the Scout class and the Support class. Each class can be enhanced with special abilities, enabling highly specialized playing styles. In the coming weeks we will examine the character classes and their unique abilities, starting with the Assault Class.
Assault players can usually be found at the forefront of battle, heading the offensive. With five punch-packing primary weapons to choose from, they can overwhelm their enemies with sheer firepower. Don’t overlook their defensive potential, either – the primary ability of the Assault Class is the Nano Shield, which allows players to deploy a temporary energy screen that block enemy attacks while letting allied projectiles through.

In addition to the primary Nano Shield ability, Assault players can choose one of three secondary abilities:

                            Speed Dash
The Speed Dash ability lets Assault players move faster for a short amount of time. It is very useful for seizing the initiative during mission modes where speed is of the essence, such as Search & Destroy. It can also be used to beat a hasty retreat when ammo supplies and health run low.

                            Stun Blast
The Stun Blast ability temporarily stuns and blinds nearby enemies, making them easier to target. It is ideal for quickly turning the tables when faced with a particularly resilient opponent, or for situations where enemies are attacking from multiple directions.

                            Buddy Drone
The Buddy Drone ability deploys a flying combat drone that automatically attacks nearby enemies. As such, it works as an effective counter against impending brutal melee attacks. The Buddy Drone can be customized with skins.

Assault players who master their primary and secondary abilities are formidable opponents in combat, but like all classes their abilities do have counters - a well placed E-Pulse attack can be devastating against a deployed Nano Shield or Buddy Droid. Still, it’s better to avoid direct encounters with Assault players where possible, so learn to recognize their Helghast and VSA incarnations using the diagram and the screenshots above.
