It definitely stands on its own. I would recommend playing some offline bot matches to get your feet wet. The massive variety in game types can be overwhelming if you don't know what you are doing.

With the way 2k14 has been acting, KZ has seriously taken most of my gaming time with its addicting multiplayer.

Well I finally hit one million points. Got my most kills (44) and longest streak (16) in the same game too.

So happy with my new internet service. Now I don't feel like I am 5 seconds behind when I play this. Played a few games last night and I feel like I am on a level playing field.

I'll let you know what my primary weapon was when I get home but I was using the assault class with the shield and buddy drone abilities. The map was the Forrest

I didn't really like the buddy drone at first. I thought it was kind of weak and pointless. I actually like it now. It does kill people occasionally but the real benefit for me is that it watches my back. It basically acts as an alert system for enemies that are near me. I don't always know where it's shooting but I can get a general idea usually. It does blow up my spot a lot if I'm trying to sneak around and forget that I have it on.

The Buddy prevents you from getting stealth stabbed. Love it for that reason.

Anyone know how the air defense drone works for the support class? I've been trying everything I unlock but can't figure this one out.

I activate it and there is a marker as to where you throw it. I throw it and what looks somewhat like a brick is thrown, lands on the ground and then just goes away. No air drone comes out.

When I go to select it in the loadout menu it says something about you being able to assign it to defend an area but I can't even get it to appear.

You throw the little brick when the green arc appears.

Then it will hover over the brick to attack as it sees enemies.

So my random class this week features the sickle. It is a beast at the penthouse map. I immediately got my highest kill count.
