    Star Wars on Pinball FX2

First off....I LOVE Pinball FX2. I have every table for it...this game is always a fun break from my other games.

The first pack of three Star Wars tables were released on XBL this morning for 800 pts. They include an Empire Strikes Back table, Boba Fett table, and a Clone Wars table. I got some time in with them this morning before I left for work.

The ESB table is pretty damn cool. Lots going on with it, very active sounds and a fun layout. This table is my favorite so far, and it's the coolest of the three.

The CW table is probably the most challenging to me. It's not quite as active as the ESB table, but I lost more balls on this table than the other two by a big margin. It's got 'tough rolls' and a little harder to get the kickback activated. This CW table is tough in a fun way though and it's the one I will tackle again first when I play tonight. The only bit I'm not crazy about is that Yoda speaks 'Yoda-isms' quite a bit; I'd much rather hear banter from Anakin, Obi Wan, and Ahsoka with an occasional Yoda quip myself.

Finally the BF table. Like the ESB table, it's really active, with fantastic music cues and sound FX. It's got multiple flippers like all three tables do, but this one has a third flipper on the left side at a funky angle that is really tough to use correctly. Using it wound up making the ball go down the drain about 40% of the time, and the gain from using it hasn't yielded anything spectacular just yet. Need to work with it some more...

Multi-ball on all three tables is really tough, even with just two at one time! I'm usually pretty good with multi-ball chaos, but with these tables...again, need more time with them.

Anyway, if you dig SW and pinball I highly recommend them. If you haven't liked Pinball FX2, then I guess these won't change your mind.

No...they are doing original games with much more over-the-top tables.

This is also available on PS3/Vita as a Zen Pinball 2 download. $9.99 for the set of 3, and they have to be bought as a pack, not individually.

I enjoy the Williams Collection a bit more.
Feel more like the real old tables to me.
I never play Zen any longer.

I wrote a review on the new tables a couple days ago. Zen does the best DLC of anyone out there.

I tried out the demo tables of star wars and enjoyed it. Definitely will purchase it.

The Williams collection is really cool, but I always find myself drawn back to the Zen collection. Fun stuff.

The ESB table might be worth the $10 on its own. It could pass for a real one (outside of the lightsaber parts), and is definitely the highest quality table I've ever seen Zen Studios put out. Really making full use of that license.

It's really the table I spend a majority of my time on. The others just sweeten the bundle a little more.

Re: Star Wars on Pinball FX2

Just put up 161 million on ESB. 67th all-time overall. Nobody on my friends list is gonna touch that one for a while...

I love how straightforward it is, once you understand how everything works. Starting up movie scenes is a snap once you know where to aim, which is good because some of the scenes are pretty hard. You really need to see each of them multiple times to have a good plan of attack. Vader Frenzy is also fairly easy to start, very easy to carry out and is good for probably around 2 million on the first run and even more on the second (the value doesn't reset). The extra ball is easily gotten once lit, and the probe and TIE shooting is just plain fun.

Really can't say enough good things about this table.

Gave the trials a shot. Empire Strikes Back was fantastic,Bobba Fett decent and thought Clone Wars was pretty bad.

What's with the scores though? One of them 1st is double 2nd and 2nd is double 3rd. I nabbed the other trials too and that Tesla table scoreboard is just ridiculous. 1st has about 8x 2nd. Are people cheating or is the game in general pretty glitchy? It looks to be mostly the same people so I'm leaning towards cheating.

Glad to see you gave it a try, goh. There are over 40 tables on fx2. Pretty sure the consensus favorite of the Star Wars first group is the ESB one...great table indeed.
