I hate te XBOX controller wires to. They tangle and stay in that position forever. Untagling it is like a chore. But if I were you, I'd leave those wireless controllers alone. Wireless controllers are like using your tv remote. Sometimes it wont catch your signal and you have to press the botton again. And you dont want that to happen during an online game of anything. Thats my experience with wireless controllers.

yeah, i'll stay away then, i'll just try and figure out a way to keep mine from getting all twisted

I dont think there is a way. I tried to tie my cords instead of wrapping it around the controller and it still did'nt work. I think the best solution is to wrap it loosely so they wont be squeezed so tight that they'll get stuck in that position.

yeah, I had them wrapped a while ago, but I even just let them sit by the tv in a pile now, I just have to untangle them really good and hope it stays that way I guess. Doesn't seem to be that bad for the PS2 controller, probably cause the cords are made of different material

I have no problem with the PS2 controllers. Xbox wires are so damn thick. Almost like jumper cables.

I don't try tieing or wrapping my cords around the controller. I just kinda stuff them back into the audio cabinet. When I get ready to play I can just turn on the xbox and back my way onto the sofa and watch the cord stretch out.

Actually the wireless controllers are a radio signal (2.4ghz), not an infrared signal like a TV remote. They work more like a cordless phone now, where it doenst matter where it is pointed as long as you are within 100 or so feet of the transmitter.

I dont own a wireless controller right now, but Ive been thinking about getting one myself. There is supposedly a wireless headset for the Xbox coming in the next couple of months, so Im waiting to see if it drops because you cannot plug your headset into the wireless controllers. The trasmitters have the mem/headset slot and it sits less than a foot from the Xbox, so it would pretty much defeat the purpose of a wireless controller.

                  Re: wireless controllers for xbox?

I saw a set of two wireless controllers for XBOX on sale at Costco for $49.99 (they were $39.99 for a single controller at EB at the time), so I picked them up, and honestly, they are awesome, with the exception of the single bad characteristic that's been pointed out (that you can't plug in the XBOX communicator to them). There are absolutely no problems with range or sensitivity though - in fact, when I'm working on rosters and need to be in front of my computer (which is over ten feet from my XBOX and facing an opposite direction), I can sit there and the controller still works perfectly. So I happily use them when I am playing offline - they were worth the purchase price for that alone, IMO. It does suck that you can't plug the communicator into em though.
