Anyone else sent their xbox in for repairs?

I called up m$, and they sent me the box and all to send in my xbox for a possible dvd drive repair/swap/what-have-you. What is the length of time it takes to get your xbox back?

I am really struggling on when to send it in, since Sega GT online just came out, and ninja gaiden is right around the corner. At the same time the damn machine freaks out randomly and either gives me the dirty disk error, or just flat out freezes the game.

wish they would have sent a temp xbox

How much is all this gonna cost you, I would have thought it would have just been close to the same amount as buying a new one. I have problems all the time with getting games to start, but once the Xbox reads the game they play fine. I'm thinking eventually I may need a new Xbox.

its free. I had purchased the one year warranty for 25 bucks late last year, then i called them up and told them i was upset, then they sent the box ready to go with the shipping labels and all on it.

I've never sent a xbox in, but if I were you I'd send it in soon. Hopefully it'd only take a few weeks, but if you wait more games you want to play will come out, and you'll never find the right time to get it in

oh, and Fetter, you might be able to trade your xbox into Gamestop or something, since it still works mostly, and get some trade in for a new one. Just make sure to save your Live profile and all that jazz on a mem card

Took just 1 week for me and haven't had one disc reading problem since.
