Re: Single Player Campaigns That You Didn't Finish

Oblivion- Got caught up in leveling and exploring so much, that I never beat the game.

Final Fantasy XIII- Hated this game and just got sick of it and stopped play it.

Dead Rising- Kept dying in the same spot and got bored with it. Odd because I love zombies but this game was hard.

Resident Evil 5- Got to the very end and tried like hell (even in multi-player) to beat it but never did.

I finished probably 20% of the games I bought last gen. I buy too many games, I don't care about trophies, I spend the bulk of my time playing online shooters.

Re: Single Player Campaigns That You Didn't Finish

Games I have started that are still not finished:

          XCOM- Enemy Unknown 90% completed.

Deus Ex Human Revolution - 45% completed.

Skyrim - 265+ hours in still not finished but that is the beauty of this game.

Hitman Absolution - I was 70% done when the corrupted save bug wiped my game I never went back to it because I was really pissed

Borderlands - I am so close to finishing the main storyline (90% finished)

Red Dead Redemption - 30% done love the game immensely but got side tracked starting Dead Space 3 for a second play through .

Dead Space 3 - On track to finish this gem with the DLC this time.

So there we have it. And the only reason I seem to not finish some games is my obsession with my wife of video games....The Show. Then my 2 mistresses in NBA 2K and this year Madden 25 and NCAA 14. And now I am gearing up to play a season on NHL 13 and restart a brand new legacy on CH2K8.

I have so many great games I have yet to play this gen and in my que.

          Borderlands 2
          Far Cry 3
          Dishonored
          Dark Souls
          Dragons Dogma Arisen
          Kingdoms of Amular
          Batman Arkham Origins
          Tomb Raider
          GTA V
          Bioshock
          Bioshock 2
          Bioshock Infinate

But my gaming time is limited.....so my new rule is any non-sports game I start going forward......I stick to until completion in between my usual sports gaming.

This year here are the non sports games I played straight through:

          The Last of Us
          Dead Space 3

Bioshock, homefront Black Ops 2 and Ghosts. That's just for 360 though.

Re: Single Player Campaigns That You Didn't Finish

I actually never finished Final Fantasy VII, all those years back....my bro had it for the PS1 which he brought home with him for XMas break, and I got like 90% of the way through it during that time, then XMas break ended and by the time summer came and I got a chance to pick it back up, I completely forgot what I was supposed to be doing and so I never finished the last part of the game.

I didn't initially finish, then subsequently had to force myself to finish BioShock and GTAIV....out of some weird sense of obligation, I guess. Both were for the same reason: the games were simply boring. BioShock is really a repetitive, mediocre shooter with cool atmosphere and story. But there are essentially 3-4 types of enemies, no real value to killing them using anything other than the wrench, and the game basically doesn't add anything new in terms of gameplay after the first 1-2 hours. GTAIV's missions were just boring, and Liberty City/New York just doesn't provide the kind of sandbox that California does. GTAV is so much better in every way than GTAIV.

I know I say this in every thread, but if you only go back and finish one game, it should be "Red Dead Redemption". It's totally worth it.

Also, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, it's worth it in my opinion to finish Final Fantasy XIII. The ending is pretty epic, and the game (well, the battle system) opens up a ton near the end/after the story. It's a shame, but you never really get to even see what the battle system can do until AFTER you beat the story and go around on Pulse killing some insanely tough monsters.

But yeah, if you only have time for one, it should be Red Dead.

                The Last of Us
                Dead Space 3
I'm taking a similar approach with non-sports games. Of course, I just added to my library by buying a 3DS XL The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds bundle, The Last Of Us and the God of War Saga Collection (5 games for $15 was too good to pass up).

I did just finish Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (2nd playthrough), so I've got that going for me!

Here's a list of PS3 games I have or just recently acquired:
The Last of Us (just got)
Tomb Raider (still in shrink wrap)
Jak & Daxter HD Collection (haven't started yet)
                Sly Cooper (haven't started yet)
God of War Saga Collection (en route to my house)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (haven't started yet)
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (almost done with MGS 3)
Heavy Rain (played for 3 hours the other night, not sure how far I am in the story)

                And for the 360 ...
Batman Arkham City (about 25% through the campaign)

                3DS
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (just finished the first boss battle)
Shin Megami Tensei IV (shrink wrap)
                Fire Emblem Awakening (shrink wrap)
New Super Mario Bros. 2 (shrink wrap)

                Vita
                Gravity Rush (Chapter 12)
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (haven't touched in months, will likely start over)

So yeah, there's plenty here to keep me busy. Not to mention that I'm still playing MLB 13 The Show, WWE 2K14, Madden 25, NCAA 14, NBA 2K14 and NHL 14 here and there.

My goodness, that is a lot of games!

                My gameplan going forward is
3DS: Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds
                Vita: Gravity Rush
                PS3: Metal Gear Solid 3
                360: Batman Arkham City
                Currently Playing:
                MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

Anyone ever try "Resonance of Fate"? I had heard good things, but I don't know anyone that ever tried it...why don't more games release demos?

I didn't finish AC3. It took too long for the story to kick in, once it did, I didn't like the character!

I couldn't get into Mass Effect 3 either. I liked the first two a lot, but I think I was tired of the series when that one rolled around.

I'm pretty sure their are some more, I just cant remember them.

I just don't have time to play games like I use too, I use to like long single player games, but due to lack of time, Im finding my self liking the shorter/linear/action type games more. It took me two months to beat Tomb Raider, because I don't play every day.
On my few free nights that may seem like a good time to play games, if I am tired, Ill just watch some TV instead, I have to have energy to play video games, I don't force myself to play when Im tired like I use to.
Lol, we must have been separated at birth because this is exactly what my gaming life has become. I have good intentions of gaming at night but if I plant myself on that couch after watching a sporting event, the thought of even putting a disc into the PS3 seems like too much trouble. People complained that the Uncharted campaigns were too short, it would take me weeks to finish it because I didn't have the time or energy to engage in gaming sessions for hours on end so I could beat the game in 2 nights no matter how good it was.

Used to be a big sports gamer but have no desire to play them these days because it feels like too much trouble to play franchise mode and the effort necessary to enjoy it and I used to play full 162 game seasons with The Show. I now play WWE2K14 for my sports fix (well sports entertainment I guess) because you pop it in, play a few matches and go to bed. Low maintenance without worrying about bad AI, trades and stat tracking. And the AI in WWE2k14 is fantastic which helps keep my interest but its easy gaming. Thought about getting NBA2k14 but the effort needed to be good at that game at a high skill level with all the different move combinations and strategies just seems exhausting. Too much thinking.

No desire to play open world games either, too boring and slow, and I prefer linear stuff with a good story like Uncharted and Last of Us. And you need to play hours upon hours of MP to enjoy any game because any less and you're getting your *** kicked which makes it no fun.

Borderlands 2 - Reached level 20 and then stopped. Almost did the same thing with the first Borderlands, but I eventually went back and beat it. No desire to finish 2 though.

Darksiders - Played about an hour or so 2 years ago, my then girlfriend broke up with me that day and I never went back to it

Vanquish - Didn't like the gunplay at all. Also didn't help that I played Binary Domain before that and it felt too similar. Disappointed I didn't like it because I loved Bayonetta.

                                Rage - Eh

Just Cause 2/Far Cry 2 - Together because going around and ****ing around in the open world is way more fun than the missions in these games.

Mirror's Edge - Fun, but the tearing on the PC version is awful. Even V-Sync wouldn't fix it.

                                Dark Souls - Nope.

My bigger issue is my backlog thanks to Steam sales.

                                Dmc Devil May Cry
                                Saints Row IV
                                Fallout: New Vegas
                                Max Payne 3
                                Sleeping Dogs
                                Tomb Raider
                                Torchlight II
                                Brutal Legend
                                Stacking
                                Costume Quest
                                Alpha Protocol
                                Hitman: Absolution

All these games to play, and I usually just end up firing up Spelunky or Rogue Legacy instead. Something way more appealing to me now about those type of games, where you can just played a few quick rounds for half an hour to an hour and then stop.
